Gustavo Lopes Continues to Climb

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

With about 3,500 in the pot, on a board reading {A-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades}, Team PokerStars Pro, Leo Fernandez, checked his option.

Gustavo Lopes was on the button and bet 2,100. Fernandez called.

The turn was the {5-Clubs}. Fernandez checked again and Lopes bet 3,600 this time. Fernandez thought about it for a moment and called again.

The river was the {k-Diamonds}. Fernandez checked for a third time and after thinking about it for a moment, Lopes checked back.

Fernandez shrugged before tabling {7-Spades}{5-Spades}. Lopes showed {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and scooped the pot, adding to his already-growing stack.

Marco Rave Doesn't Believe

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

A big pot was brewing in the middle of the room, and the player in the cutoff led out for a big bet of 8,000.

There was about 10,000 in the pot already, on a board reading {10-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. PokerStars qualifier, Marco Rave, was on the button and he had a decision to make.

Rave thought about it for a couple of minutes before deciding to call. His opponent said, "Nice hand. King high" as he tabled {k-Spades}{j-Spades} for a busted flush draw.

Rave tabled {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for two pair, tens and sevens and raked in the pot.

Rave is sitting on massive stack early in the first level of the day and has almost double the starting stack in this Main Event.

PokerStars Qualifier Salomon Benarroch Ships a Double

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

With 5,150 in the pot and a board reading {6-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{a-Spades}, PokerStars qualifier Salomon Benarroch moved all in for 6,200 from the small blind and his opponent in the cutoff, Spain's Jose Latorre, hit the tank.

Eventually Latorre made the call only to muck when Benarroch rolled over the {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for two pair. With that, Benarroch shipped the double and chipped up to 17,500, still about half the starting stack.

Anthony Zinno
Anthony Zinno

Anthony Zinno is in the house!

The World Poker Tour Season 13 Player of the Year was one of the hottest players in poker in 2015. That’s when he won both the 2015 WPT L.A. Poker Classic for $1,015,860 and Fallsview Poker Classic for $302,235. Toss in a win in the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star $25,000 High Roller for $197,758 and capturing his first bracelet in the World Series of Poker Event #60: $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller for $1,122,196, well let’s just say it was a remarkable year for Zinno.

Zinno won $3,778,904 in 2015 and he followed that up a year later by winning $1,060,893, which included $319,407 for finishing sixth in the EPT12 Grand Final €25,000 High Roller.

It’s still early in 2017, but Zinno already has $71,781 in earnings thanks in no small part to a runner-up finish in the WPT LAPC Event #57: $5,250 Pot-Limit Omaha for $59,655. Only time will tell if the man from Massachusetts can make it three seven-figure years in a row.

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Igor Yaroshevskyy was in the big blind and battling Sam Greenwood, who had the button. The board was complete and read {3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{a-Clubs}. Greenwood fired in a couple of chips and announced 5,500 into the 7,000 or so pot, and Yaroshevskyy called immediately. Greenwood rolled over {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} for a flopped boat, which was best.

Greenwood Grows

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

With about 2,000 in the pot already, on a board reading {4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}, PokerStars qualifier, Massimo De Mario, checked from under the gun. Sam Greenwood was on the button and bet 1,000. De Mario called.

The turn was the {a-Diamonds} and De Mario checked again. Greenwood thought about it for a moment and bet 2,000. De Mario went into the tank and check-raised to 6,100. Greenwood wasted no time and called.

The river was the {q-Spades} and De Mario checked. After a long pause, Greenwood fired out a bet of 9,000. De Mario immediately sat up in his seat with a pained look on his face and eventually called.

Greenwood quickly tabled {7-Spades}{6-Spades} for a flush, and De Mario flashed a black five for a straight before sending his cards into the muck.

One for Demeyere; Tito Ortiz Takes His Seat

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Luke Graham opened for 300 from the cutoff and Kenny Hallaert, who finished sixth in the 2016 World Series of Poker Main Event for almost$1.5 million, called from the small blind. Portugal's Jose Da Silva Paulo Demeyere came along from the big blind and it was three-way action to the {9-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop.

All three players checked and then did the same on both the {J-Clubs} turn and {J-Hearts} river. Hallaert showed the {a-Spades}{2-Spades}, but it was no good as Demeyere held to pair with the {9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}. Graham simply mucked.

It wasn't the most exciting hand, but it did give us a good excuse to not only update you on Hallaert's stack, but also to inform you that MMA legend Tito Ortiz has taken his seat in the tournament at the same table.
