Bansal Gets Creative, Guo Profits

Nível 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
Dong Guo
Dong Guo

APT Main Event Champion Dong Guo opened the action with a raise from under the gun, neighbor Adrian Attenborough made the call, as did a player in the hijack before India’s Raghav Bansal squeezed to 6,500 from the button.

Guo tanked for what felt like an eternity, though was probably only a few minutes, before sliding in the call and Attenborough also came along for the ride. After the player in the hijack bowed out, they went three-way to an {a-Clubs}{4-Spades}{9-Diamonds} flop.

Guo and Attenborough checked it over to Bansal, who again fired for 6,500. Guo took his time once more before choosing to check-raise to 13,000.

Attenborough quickly mucked and while Bansal took slightly longer about it. He did too and Guo won a decent pot without showdown to pad out his already ample stack.

Radzivonau Tames the Croc

Nível 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Kiryl Radzivonau was the first into the pot with a raise to 1,500 and Billy "The Croc" Argyros three-bet to 4,600 from the button. Action folded back around to Radzivonau who called.

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and Radzivonau checked. Argyros bet 7,000 and Radzivonau pushed forward all of his remaining chips, totaling about 35,000. Argyros thought for a moment and tossed his cards in the muck.

Zhou Doubles Through O'Dwyer

Nível 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

A player in middle position raised to 1,300 and Steve O'Dwyer called before the player in the hijack called and action fell on Yuan Zhou in the small blind. He looked around the table and pushed all in for about 8,000. The initial raiser folded and O'Dwyer thought for a moment before pushing all in over the top. The fourth player folded.

Zhou: {j-Spades}{7-Spades}
O'Dwyer: {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

The board ran out {a-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and O'Dwyer paid Zhou a double-up.

Peters' Stack on the Rise

Nível 7 : 300/600, 100 ante
David Peters
David Peters

David Peters just scored an elimination after baiting his opponent into submitting his stack. On a {5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} board, Peters put his stack of yellow 5,000 chips over the line, enough to cover his opponent and roughly two times the size of the pot.

After a moment in the tank, Peters' opponent slid his stack into the middle and Peters tabled {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for two pair. His opponent mucked and quickly left the tournament floor.

Sarmiento Rails One

Nível 7 : 300/600, 100 ante

Carlos Sarmiento has been busy since the last time we walked by his table and has just padded out his stack a little further, at the expense of Tim Uit De Haag.

Pre-flop it was Sarmiento in the driver's seat, accelerating up to 1,500 and picking up a caller in the form of Feng Wen Chen on the button before Uit De Haag squeezed all-in for 4,700 in total from the big blind.

Sarmiento made the call and Chen got out of the way to take the action heads-up.

Carlos Sarmiento: {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Tim Uit De Haag: {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}

While Uit De Haag had the best hand and a slight lead this was immediately nullified by the {k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop. The {9-Spades} turn had one pip to many to aid Uit De Haag and the {3-Spades} was of no help whatsoever and he headed for the rail while Sarmiento scooped the pot.

Nível 8 : 400/800, 100 ante

PokerStars Team Online Pro Randy 'Nanonoko' Lew's Main Event road has come to and end. Starting the day short, Lew lost half his stack early on and remained around the 10 big blind mark for a while.

According to his tablemates, Lew got a couple shoves through, but was eventually called. Lew got it in bad but had some hope after flopping a pair. Unfortunately, his opponent turned a better pair and lew was unable to improve.

O'Dwyer has Departed

Nível 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

We missed the action but caught Steve O'Dwyer standing up from the table.

The {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} was laid out on the table in front of him and an opponent's {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. The board read {2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and the pot was being awarded to O'Dwyer's opponent.

O'Dwyer left the tournament area but has been seen scooping out the Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller event currently underway.

High Rollers Aplenty, Wang Wins From Aido

Nível 8 : 400/800, 100 ante
Sergio Aido
Sergio Aido

With only the HK$80,000 Pot Limit Omaha High Roller running today it appears that many of the big buy-in players have opted to take a shot at the Main Event instead with Sergio Aido, Isaac Haxton, David Peters, Nick Petrangelo, Sam Greenwood and Dan Smith all busy beavering away here on Day 2.

Petrangelo and Peters are seated at different tables for a change, but Mikita Badziakouski and Davidi Kitai, who both final tabled the HK$206,000 Single Re-Entry Shot Clock on Tuesday 4 April, are amusingly seated at the same table once again in the Main Event.

James Chen told us he is planning on playing the second HK$200,000 Single Re-Entry Shot Clock tomorrow, unless of course he is still going in the Main. Currently Chen is seated at Billy the Croc’s table with the two players discussing strategy at present.

Another high roller who is in attendance and appears to be doing pretty well is Sergio Aido and we managed to catch the Spaniard in action in the following hand.

Pre-flop it was Aido who was the initial aggressor, opening the action with a raise to 2,000 from the hi-jack and finding a caller in Nianqing Wang, who chose to defend from the big blind.

Wang checked the {8-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop over to Aido, who decided a c-bet was in order and bet out 1,500, which Wang quickly called.

Both players checked the {k-Hearts} turn opening the door for Wang to take a stab on the river and he reached for chips and tossed out a bet of 6,000.

Aido does not look thrilled about it but made a crying call and Wang rolled over the mighty {k-Clubs}{9-Hearts} for the turned boat. The Spanish player gave a wry grin and flashed his opponent pocket aces before tossing them into the muck.
