Wolff already said that he will be back shortly and walked back in one minute later.
With a pot of around 3,000 heading to the turn, Rudolf Henry Hein checked in the small blind and Vadizm Lipauka bet 1,400 from under the gun. Hein check-raised to 3,000 and was called by Lipauka before both then checked the river.
Hein turned over and Lipauka scooped the pot with .
One hand later, another interesting hand developed with Lipauka involved out of the big blind. Now it was on him to check-raise the river from 1,000 to 3,800. His table neighbor "Dirty Harry" whispered some words along the lines of "runner runner?" but called. Sure enough, Lipauka turned over the for a flush and that won the pot.
On the thee-way turn of , EDDY checked in the small blind and Morten Moller Markvorsen bet 1,225 from under the gun into a pot of around 2,200. The third player in the hand folded and EDDY called. He then checked the river and Markvorsen bet another 3,000.
EDDY gave it some consideration and called only to see Markvorsen flip over for the flopped nut flush.
Some 8,300 chips on the river of a queen-high board with three spades are gone with Anna Yamshchikova having rivered a straight with . Her opponent had for a flush and claimed the pot.
Soon after, Yamshchikova lost another small pot after giving up on an ace-high river when facing a raise to 2,125, and the stack of the Russian has already melted by one third.
Alain Riss, who played on Day 1a, and Reinhard Foidl have taken their seats in level one. Poland's Karol Radomski is also on the registration list already, but hasn't shown up thus far. The field has already grown to more than 100 entries, expect that number to climb further in teh hours to come.
Hans Falge limped in from the button and Patrick Wolff checked in the small blind, as did the big blind. All three players checked down the board of entirely and Wolff claimed the pot with for a rivered pair of kings.
The next hand, the hijack limped and Falge raised to 325. Konstantin Kostyakov called out of the big blind and the initial limper folded. On the flop, Falge bet 625 and Kostyakov called. Both then checked the turn before Kostyakov bet the river for 1,000. Falge called to see Kostyakov turn over for nines and fives. That ended up second best, as Falge had flopped the straight with .
Anna Yamshchikova, Konstantin Kostyakov and Aleksei Ivanov all played yesterday on Day 1a but failed to bag up chips. They are back now, though, and try to build up a stack for Day 2.
The tournament screens indicate 93 entries half way through level one, another promising sign for a successful starting day.

EDDY was already playing yesterday and got involved in a series of big pots with Alexander Rettenbacher and Richard Schaaser, resulting in his elimination. He just sat down with two opponents at his table and joked "do you guys want to go all in blind? You can start with 90,000 ... " but neither of them took advantage of it.
