"I'm ahead," Haxton declared. "I have a pair. That's how this works, right?"
It certainly did on the 
flop, but the 
turn gave Haxton a bunch of cards to dodge. The 
river wasn't one of them.
"That's why it's good to start with a pair," Haxton said cheerfully.
