Depa Leads the Final Six in Event #3: $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha; Adams Makes Third Consecutive Final Table of 2018 Poker Masters

Jonathan Depa
Jonathan Depa

The only four card tournament slated on this year's Poker Masters schedule started yesterday, gathering 37 entries in Event #3: $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha at the PokerGO Studio outside of the Aria Resort and Casino. The six remaining players will battle it out for the $333,000 first place prize, along with the points the go towards the eventual victor of this year's Purple Jacket.

Omaha specialist Jonathan Depa leads the final table of six with a staggering 1,413,000 in chips. Depa skipped over the first two Hold'em events and decided to play to his strength in everyone's favorite four-card game, Omaha. He gathered his chip lead by hitting a one outer in a set over set hand, giving him an early lead, once atop the leaderboard he started to take over control of his table, applying pressure all the way to the final table and now looks to take down his first Poker Masters tournament of 2018.

Second in chips at the third events final table is Brandon Adams (1,138,000), who has now made all three final tables of this year's Poker Masters. He went into the Event #1: $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em as the chipleader, falling short of a victory as he took down fourth place for $69,000 and 120 points for his efforts. The New Orleans native took down his second final table appearance in Event #2: $25,000 No-Limit Hold'em for a cool $400,000, adding 300 points to his total as well and overtaking David Peters atop the 2018 Purple Jacket rankings. He will be adding to his lead today and looking for another great finish to add to his already ridiculous start of the Poker Masters.

One stand out player of the poker scene is Ben Yu (832,000), having recently placed second in the $25,000 Pot Limit Omaha High Roller (Event #42) at the WSOP this past summer and holding over five million in live cashes. Yu is regarded by many as one of the best Omaha players in the world and you can surely expect impeccable decision making by this talented player going into the final table.

The final table of six is completed by three other well-known American players: Dan Shak (781,000), Keith Lehr (712,000) and Isaac Haxton (675,000). The three players all sit on the bottom of the chip counts and have around the same stack sizes. Haxton is the only one of the three that has a cash already in this year's Poker Master when he placed sixth in the first event and will be looking to add some more points to his name.

All remaining players have north of 50 big blinds, with the chipleader having over 100 and 16 minutes still remain at 6,000/12,000/12,000. This is the deepest final table thus far and will certainly provide an entertaining end to the only four-card tournament of the series.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be bringing you updates throughout the whole final table of the only Omaha event until a winner is crowned victorious.
