Talbot, Seymour Among Early Doubles

Nível 13 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Richard Seymour
Richard Seymour

The action has been fast to begin the day, with several players starting Level 13 under 20 big blinds.

PokerStars Ambassador Parker Talbot got his chips into middle on the very first hand, more than doubling his stack with {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} on a board showing {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{a-Clubs}.

At a nearby table, Richard Seymour was all-in two hands in a row and won them both. Seymour tabled {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} with under 10 big blinds and survived against an opponent on his right with {8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}.

The next hand saw Seymour among four players all-in preflop, holding {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} against {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} and his pocket pair turning into a full house on the {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades}{a-Hearts} runout. Seymour climbed to more than 60 big blinds and collected his first mystery bounty card.

Mateos Calls for the Bounty

Nível 13 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

With a completed board of {k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{j-Clubs}{10-Hearts} spread across the felt, Adrian Mateos was facing an all-in bet from his opponent who just started the day with a fresh stack of 30,000 chips.

Mateos gave it some thought before making the call. His opponent tabled {k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for top pair but Mateos had the better kicker with {k-Spades}{q-Spades} to claim one of the first bounties of the day.

Welcome Back to Day 2 of the $3,000 PCA Mystery Bounty

Cards, Chips, Branding
Cards, Chips, Branding

After an action-packed opening day that saw plenty of chips exchanging hands, there will be at least 229 players returning to their seats for Day 2 of the $3,000 PCA Mystery Bounty. Many players are starting to make their way to the 2023 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in The Bahamas for what is shaping up to be one of the busiest weekends.

After 12 levels were completed on Day 1, David Stamm emerged as the overall chip leader, bagging up a whopping 340,500 chips. Stamm will be the only player that is guaranteed to have a shot at a bounty prize no matter what on the opening hand of Day 2 when the cards go in the air at 1 p.m. EST. He will be closely followed by Mauricio Sanchez (306,000) and Petar Kalev (304,000) to round out the top three chip counts.

Some other notables with big stacks who have positioned themselves well to claim some bounties include Santiago Plante (276,000), Rayan Chamas (188,500), Shaun Deeb (187,500), and Dario Sammartino (174,500). They can smell blood in the water when the short stacks decide to put themselves at risk, all hoping to claim the top bounty prize.

What the prize is, is only a guess right now since late registration will remain open until 12:30 p.m. EST today. Once registration is closed, the tournament staff will begin to calculate the bounty prizes before the cards go in the air. There is likely to be at least one $100,000 prize in the mix along with a $30,000 Platinum Pass package up for grabs.

A new starting stack for those late entries will be worth 30,000 chips and the blinds will resume at 1,000/1,500 and a 1,500 big blind ante. The levels will continue to be 40 minutes in length with a 15-minute break after every three levels and a 75-minute dinner break after Level 21. The schedule for Day 2 is to play 15 levels and then return to crown a winner on Day 3.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be here to bring you all of the live updates as the tournament unfolds and the exciting reveal of the mystery bounties are drawn.
