Second Break of the Day

Nível 4 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Justin Bonomo raised to 4,500 and Sam Greenwood called in the cutoff, as did Adrian Mateos in the big blind. The trio checked through the {5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} flop and the {7-Spades} turn. Mateos bet the {5-Hearts} river for 11,000 and that forced two folds.

Two hands later, Greenwood raised to 4,500 and received calls from Mateos on the button and Bonomo in the big blind. The {A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop was checked over to Greenwood, and all it took was a 5,500 bet to win the pot without resistance.

Right after, the remaining 39 players out of 41 entries headed into their second 20-minute break.

A Bit of Commotion Surrounds Shak's Elimination

Nível 4 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Dan Shak raised to 5,000 from under the gun and Koray Aldemir three-bet to 17,000 on the button. Action folded back to Shak who called.

The flop came {4-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, Shak checked, Aldemir bet 12,500, Shak raised to 45,000, Aldemir three-bet shoved, having Shak covered and Shak quickly called for the 149,500 he had behind.

Dan Shak: {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Koray Aldemir: {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

The dealer burned a card, dealt the turn which was the {4-Diamonds} but also accidentally flipped open the next burn card which would have been the {7-Diamonds}. The dealer quickly confirmed he was 100% sure it was the burn card and so did the floor who happened to be standing behind the dealer. Shak looked unsure and wasn't totally in agreement.

The dealer continued to deal the river which was the {3-Hearts} to give Aldemir the higher flush to eliminate Shak.

A discussion ensued about what had happened and the floor tried to explain it again to Shak. The whole table basically agreed on the situation but Shak was still inclined to disagree. The tournament director was called over, who agreed with the floor and dealer. The rest of the table also tried to explain that even if the seven was the turn, the {3-Hearts} on the river would still mean that Aldemir would have won.

Shak resigned to that fact and made his way out of the tournament area.

Kempe Takes From Badziakouski; Kanit, Shak and Nitsche Join

Nível 4 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Rainer Kempe raised to 5,000 in the hijack and Jason Koon called in the cutoff, as did Mikita Badziakouski in the big blind. On a flop of {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{5-Clubs}, action checked to Kempe and his bet of 11,000 was called by Badziakouski only. After the {10-Hearts} turn, Badziakouski check-called another bet of 28,000 and the {2-Diamonds} followed on the river.

Badziakouski checked and Kempe used two time banks before betting 93,000 with a single T-500 chip behind. Badziakouski released his cards and the pot was shipped to Kempe. The same table now also features Dominik Nitsche once more.

Jensen Loses Chunk to Petrangelo

Nível 4 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Nick Petrangelo
Nick Petrangelo

The board read {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and Gregory Jensen had checked in the big blind. Nick Petrangelo bet 35,000 from mid-position and was called by Steve O'Dwyer in the hijack and Jensen.

The river completed the board with the {9-Spades}, Jensen checked for the last time. Petrangelo tanked and then decided to bet 156,000. O'Dwyer took some time to consider his options and when the timer was ticking down, O'Dwyer folded. Jensen looked at the board, sighed, and then made the call. Petrangelo tabled {k-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for the turned flush and that was enough to scoop the pot as Jensen mucked his hand.

Winter Jams the River

Nível 4 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

First to act, Sean Winter raised to 4,000 and picked up no fewer than three callers in Justin Bonomo, David Peters and Talal Shakerchi in the big blind. On the {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop all four players checked through and it was Shakerchi that bet the {6-Spades} turn for 11,000. Winter was the only caller and he had 31,500 behind.

The {A-Spades} appeared on the river and Shakerchi checked, Winter moved all in and that forced a quick fold.

Haxton Has the Full House

Nível 4 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Chris Hunichen raised to 4,000 from under the gun and Isaac Haxton three-bet to 13,5000 in the hijack. Action folded back to Hunichen who made the call.

The flop came {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, Hunichen check-called the 7,000 continuation-bet of Haxton.

The turn brought them the {7-Clubs}, Hunichen checked again. Haxton now barreled a bet of 30,000 over the line which Hunichen called again.

The river completed the board with the {4-Clubs}, Hunichen checked for the last time. Haxton fired another bet into the pot, now for 85,000. Hunichen called but mucked when he saw Haxton held {7-Spades}{6-Spades} for the turned full house.

Nitsche No More (For Now)

Nível 4 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Dominik Nitsche
Dominik Nitsche

"How much do you have?" Dominik Nitsche was asked and replied "21,000 behind" before the German in the big blind headed to the {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop, on which he moved all in and was called by Jason Koon.

Nitsche had a pair with {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, but Koon was way ahead with {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. The {2-Spades} turn and the {6-Hearts} river brought no help and Nitsche was eliminated on his first bullet. However, he may be back soon as the tournament offers unlimited re-entries until the start of Day 2.
