Greenwood Takes Two

Nível 1 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

On a flop of {8-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}, Jesus Cortes check-called a bet of 5,500 by Sam Greenwood and the {J-Hearts} appeared on the turn. Cortes checked once more and Greenwood forced a fold with a bet of 23,000.

The very next hand, Greenwood opened to 2,500 and Gregory Jensen made it 7,000 to go from one seat over. Isaac Haxton called in the cutoff and Greenwood also came along to see a flop of {7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Action checked around and Greenwood bet the {2-Clubs} turn for 20,000 in order to win the pot uncontested.

On the {Q-Hearts} turn, Adams made it 19,500 to go and Peters called before doing so again for 18,000 on the {10-Diamonds} river.

Adams rolled over {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for the ace-high straight and raked in the pot.

Mateos Takes the First Pot

Nível 1 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Gregory Jensen raised and picked up two callers in Isaac Haxton in the cutoff and Adrian Mateos on the button. The flop came {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and action checked to Haxton, who made it 3,000 to go. Mateos opted for a raise to 11,000, which forced out Jensen and resulted in a call by Haxton.

The {10-Diamonds} paired the board on the turn and Haxton checked, Mateos made it 23,000 to go and that ended the hand right there.

Cary Katz

The most-expensive tournament of the 2019 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) will kick off at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island and the PCA Super High Roller comes with a price tag of $100,000. Some of the biggest names of the international poker circuit are expected to join the action and Day 1 is scheduled to kick off at 12.30 p.m. local time.

A quick glance at the list of previous winners reveals the who-is-who of poker with the likes of Eugene Katchalov, Viktor Blom, Scott Seiver, Fabian Quoss, Steve O'Dwyer, Bryn Kenney, Jason Koon, and Cary Katz all emerging victorious. Katz defeated a 48-entry strong field to claim a payday of $1,492,340, his third-biggest single cash to date.

Three High Roller Events have already taken place during the 2019 PCA; but only one of them has determined a winner just yet. In the early morning hours, Rainer Kempe overcame a tough final table and beat Alex Foxen heads-up to take down the $50,000 Single-Day High Roller while Sean Winter and David Peters are yet to finish their heads-up match in the $25,000 Single-Day High Roller I. Last but not least, the record-breaking $25,000 PokerStars NL Hold'em Players Championship is set to crown six millionaires as of 1 p.m. local time.

It would certainly be no surprise to see Foxen, Kempe, Winter or Peters in the $100,000 Super High Roller, too, along with a host of superstars. Sam Greenwood and Dan Shak will enter the event on a bargain as they won their seat in a $10,000 Satellite last night. Thanks to 32 entries in total, two seats were generated and Bartlomiej Machon finished third for $91,000.

Day 1 is set to play eight levels of 60 minutes each with a break every two levels. Unlimited re-entries are available throughout the day and late registration remains open until the cards go back in the air for Day 2. The PokerNews team will be on the floor to bring you all the action until a new Super High Roller champion is crowned.
