Chidwick Doubles Through Sontheimer

Nível 6 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Stephen Chidwick opened for 27,000 under the gun and got three-bet to 110,000 by small blind Steffen Sontheimer. Chidwick crammed for 490,000 and Sontheimer quickly called.

Stephen Chidwick: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Steffen Sontheimer: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

No waiting for Chidwick as he found a set on the {8-Spades}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop. The {9-Diamonds} turn brought a sweat as Sontheimer picked up a straight draw but the {3-Spades} river was a brick.

Welcome to Day 1 of 2018 Caribbean Poker Party $250,000 Super High Roller Championships

Baha Mar resort

The $50,000 Super High Roller that ended in the wee hours of Tuesday morning was a mere appetizer for the biggest buy-in event of the partypoker 2018 Caribbean Poker Party. It's time for $250,000 Super High Roller Championships.

That $50,000 Super High Roller was won by Venezuelan [Removed:150] after a stroke of good fortune allowed him to get past Sean Winter. The former is among the 23 players seated in the field to begin the event, while the latter isn't yet there.

However, he and many others will likely be enticed to play thanks to the hefty field that's turned up, far bigger than the mere seven players who began the $50K. Among those seated: high roller stalwarts Fedor Holz, Justin Bonomo, Isaac Haxton, Sam Greenwood and Mikita Badziakouski. Even private cash game connoisseur Rick Salomon has taken a seat.

The plan for Day 1 of this three-day event is to play out eight levels lasting one hour apiece. The usual CPP structure is in place with 1 million in the starting stack and 2,000/5,000/5,000 to start off with. Unlike many of the other events on the docket here, this one is a freezeout, so eliminated players will have to lick their wounds and start planning their action elsewhere.

Keep an eye on this space for the occasional update on players and prize pool, but PokerNews resources will be focused on the $25,500 MILLIONS World and the $5,300 Main Event until further notice.
