Start-of-Day Leader Dietrich Eliminated

Nível 50 : 1,000,000/2,000,000, 200,000 ante
Moritz Dietrich
Moritz Dietrich

On one of the two outer tables, Moritz Dietrich faced the open raise to 4m by Jacob Mulhern and the call by Katie Swift on the button. Dietrich then three-bet to 27.5m with some 6M behind out of the small blind and Mulhern moved all in. Swift quickly folded, but Dietrich needed more time.

It was as much time that Stephen Chidwick called the clock on him, and the one minute of consideration ran down to just six seconds before the Austrian called all in.

Moritz Dietrich: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Jacob Mulhern: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}

The board ran out {6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and Dietrich was drawing dead on the turn already. Dietrich, eliminated in 17th place, earns £25,000 and the remaining 16 players have a minimum of £30,000 locked up.

Rough Split Pot for Halme

Nível 50 : 1,000,000/2,000,000, 200,000 ante

Over on the feature table, Antti Halme raised to 4.5M on the button and Neel Murthy moved all in from the big blind. Halme called and was at risk for around 21 big blinds.

Antti Halme: {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Neel Murthy: {A-Diamonds}{4-Spades}

The flop came {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{J-Clubs} and Halme flopped the world, but the {3-Clubs} turn and {10-Hearts} river ensured a split pot.

Jackson Takes from Mulhern

Nível 50 : 1,000,000/2,000,000, 200,000 ante

Moritz Dietrich raised to 4.2 million preflop and both Jacob Mulhern in the small blind and Ben Jackson in the big blind made the call.

The three players checked through the {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} flop, and Mulhern saw an opening to bet 5.5 million on the {5-Diamonds}. Only Jackson called. The river {9-Hearts} prompted a check from Mulhern, Jackson bet 13.4 million, and after a couple of minutes in the tank, Mulhern made the call.

Jackson turned up {6-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for the trips, and Mulhern responded by knocking the table in respect and mucking his hand.

The Best of Friends?

Nível 50 : 1,000,000/2,000,000, 200,000 ante

Maria Lampropoulos made it 4.5M from the button, but Tom Hall raised to 13.75M in the small blind, but when action was folded round to the Argentinian, she re-raised to 26M.

Hall thought long and hard about the call/raise, but elected to fold, and a friendship was in question.

"Poker. There are no friends," he said, smiling and leaning back in his chair.

Lampropoulos couldn't do the same... she was busy leaning forward to stack her new chips.

Chidwick Takes From Swift Again

Nível 50 : 1,000,000/2,000,000, 200,000 ante
Stephen Chidwick and Katie Swift
Stephen Chidwick and Katie Swift

Stephen Chidwick and Katie Swift have been at each other for much of the day, with both players chipping up in other pots all day.

Every pot they've subsequently shared has been of greater and greater importance.

In their latest clash, a standard open preflop to 3.7 million from Chidwick was called by Swift, who maintains position on her highly-decorated foe. The flop of {K-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} saw Swift checked to and so she bet 6.7 million. Chidwick called.

The turn of {5-Clubs} saw both players check, but on the river of {3-Hearts}, Chidwick bet 8.25 million.

While Swift took her time, she eventually called, and was shown the winning hand, Chidwick's {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. Swift mucked her cards and paid an amount that cracked Chidwick's six-figure stack and drew close to Swift's stack in size.

Just how important could that pot be come tomorrow evening?

Briotti Falls After Dinner

Nível 50 : 1,000,000/2,000,000, 200,000 ante

Mateusz Rypulak raised to 4.5M first to act and Tommaso Briotti three-bet all in from one seat over for his last eight big blinds. Rypulak asked for a brief count and called to put the last Italian at risk.

Tommaso Briotti: {A-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}
Mateusz Rypulak: {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

The flop fell {Q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Rypulak improved to a pair of queens. After the blank {3-Diamonds} turn and {10-Diamonds} river, the tournament came to an end for Briotti and he took home £25,000. The next jay jump to £30,000 will be at 16 players remaining.

Too Close to Call

Nível 50 : 1,000,000/2,000,000, 200,000 ante
Maria Lampropulos
Maria Lampropulos

Maria Lampropoulos led for 2million on a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{A-Clubs} and Tom Hall called as her heads-up opponent in the hand. The turn card of {9-Clubs} saw Lampropoulos lead for 3.5million and this time she got a fold. It's incredibly close between Lampropoulos and the two men either side of her, who happen to be two of the most successful British players in recent years.

Let the Mindgames Begin: Dunwoodie Busts First Hand After Break

Nível 50 : 1,000,000/2,000,000, 200,000 ante
Thomas Dunwoodie
Thomas Dunwoodie

The action folded around to Katie Swift on the button, but before she could act, Thomas Dunwoodie had announced all-in in the small blind. The floor was instantly called, and Swift was explained, that the bet would stand if she limped or folded, but that Dunwoodie would be allowed to take back the raise if she raised herself.

Swift thought about it for a moment before putting in a raise of 6,5 million. Dunwoodie sat back in his chair and contemplated his options but ultimately moved in anyways, Spinks folded, and Swift made the call.

Thomas Dunwoodie: {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Katie Swift: {A-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

The {7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{J-Hearts} flop was safe for Dunwoodie, as was the {2-Diamonds} turn. The {A-Hearts} river was bad news for Dunworthie, who exited in 19th place.

With that elimination, Jacob Mulhern and Mateusz Rypulak are the only ones left with a golden chip, and whoever of the two lasts the longest will be awarded £100,000.
