Jeremy Pantin Leading the Pack after Day 2 of the partypokerLIVE MILLIONS in Nottingham

Nível 37 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante
Norway's Andreas Hoivold is through to Day 3 with the third biggest stack of the bunch.
Norway's Andreas Hoivold is through to Day 3 with the third biggest stack of the bunch.

Another fantastic day of tournament poker is in the books at Dusk Till Dawn, Nottingham, where Day 2 of the partypokerLIVE MILLIONS £5,300 Main Event kept staff, dealers and hundreds of players busy throughout the afternoon and evening.

The 1,240 entries from qualifiers and direct buy-ins along with the many buy-ins from online qualifiers and satellites hosted in partner casinos around Europe, have totaled a combined prize pool of £6,017,395, eclipsing the guaranteed £6,000,000. Every one of the remaining 220 players from today, as well as the 36 players that already advanced to Day 3 from playing in either San Remo, St. Vincent, or Vienna, are guaranteed a payout of £5,000. The final prize distribution is yet to be worked out by the number crunchers at Dusk Till Dawn and will be released on Day 3.

When Day 3 commences, local player Jeremy Pantin will be the man to beat.

When Day 3 commences, local player Jeremy Pantin will be the man to beat. Pantin managed to bag up no less than 20,915,000 chips, equating to more than 170 big blinds when the tournament clock starts its countdown with blinds at 60,000-120,000 (10,000 ante).

Other big stacks include Stephen Chidwick (13,230,000), Iaron Lightbourne (12,600,000), and Jan-Eric Schwippert (11,400,000), while at least three partypoker Ambassadors, Mike Sexton (10,050,000), Tony Dunst (2,485,000) and Anatoly Filatov (approximately 1,800,000) are still in contention for the MILLIONS title.

Also through in the very top is UK based Spaniard and online pro Vicente Delgado (15,885,000). He overtook the chip lead late in the day thanks to two big hands against Steven Warburton. In one of the biggest pots of the day, Delgado flopped a set of sixes and succeeded in getting Warburton to commit his chips on the turn with top pair and a gutshot. Delgado did lose a couple of million chips during the last level of play but is still sitting comfortably with close to three times the chips of an average stack.

Unfortunately, Day 2 was also the end of the road for some household poker names. Thomas Muehloecker, Martin Kabrhel, Johnny Lodden, Sam Grafton, Dominik Panka, Jason Wheeler, Niall Farrell and Charlie Carrel were all sent to the rail during the first seven levels play. Shortly before the end of the day, David Vamplew joined them after busting in spectacular fashion. The EPT London champion ran kings into the Aces of Ludovic Geilich. Despite the elimination, Geilich wasn't able to make it through either, as he failed to get away from top pair against an opponent's set shortly after.

According to the screens, there were 220 players remaining after Day 2, and they will be joined by 36 qualified players from other live venues. The recipe for tomorrow is the same as it was today - 8 levels of 75 minutes, good for a total 10 hours of play. Don't forget to tune in again tomorrow at 1 pm local time as another exciting day of poker awaits and you can follow along inthe dedicated live reporting blog. The PokerNews live reporting team will, of course, be on site to bring you all the action.

Vamplew and Geilich Both Busto

Nível 37 : 50,000/100,000, 10,000 ante
Ludovic Geilich
Ludovic Geilich

David Vamplew departed the partypokerLIVE MILLIONS Main Event in dramatic circumstances after a huge hand saw him depart and one player quadruple up.

A short-stacked player moved all-in pre-flop for 962,000 and was then called. Ludovic Geilich looked down at pocket aces and moved all-in for a stack of 3.4million. David Vamplew then re-shoved for less than 2.5m in the big blind with pocket kings, and the original caller to the first shove folded. The original man who moved all-in held {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and was thrilled as the board came down {10-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{J-Hearts} as he quadrupled up and moved right back into contention. Vamplew was busted and Geilich improved his stack to 4.8million.

However, within an orbit, Geilich was gone too. As he admitted when he told us the hand in question, he made a bad three-bet and should have folded, but got punished. This honest appraisal came after telling us that he three-bet to 367,000 over the opening bet of 120,000 from a player in early position. That player called the three-bet and the pair saw a flop of {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades} . Geilich made it 348,000 and his opponent check-called.

On the turn of {5-Hearts}, Geilich's opponent shoved and he called, having hit top two pair. His opponent held pocket sevens and knocked Geilich out after the {4-Spades} completed the board. Geilich was yet another bust-out player who held a golden chip...by our estimation there have been more than the expected number of those £100,000 last longer players who've been eliminated.

Vicente Delgado Captures the Yellow Jersey

Nível 36 : 40,000/80,000, 8,000 ante
Vicente Delgado
Vicente Delgado

In the marquee, Steven Warburton was suddenly nowhere to be found, and instead, table #94 was surrounded by members of the Dusk Till Dawn staff trying to color up parts of the massive chip tower in front of Vicente Delgado.

Delgado was more than happy to tell the story of his newly found wealth. He had opened sixes in the hijack, Warburton had three-bet the button and Delgado had made the call.

The flop came {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, Warburton had bet 500,000 and Delgado had made it 2,400,000 to go. Warburton committed the chips. Delgado put his opponent in on the {K-Hearts} turn, and Warburton had eventually made the call with {K-}{8-}, drawing to one of the four remaining sevens. He didn't get there, and Delgado had dragged the 15 million pot - the biggest of the tournament so far.

Moorman Short After Yan Calls Down

Nível 35 : 30,000/60,000, 6,000 ante

[Removed:17] and Chris Moorman got involved in a very big blind-on-blind pot which went the way of the New Zealand money leader Yan.

On a flop of {10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, Moorman called Yan's bet of 145,000 before the turn brought the {8-Hearts}. This time Yan checked, so Moorman bet 350,000 and got called. On the river of [2], Yan checked again so Moorman bet 700,000 and eventually, Yan called him down. He was right to do so, Moorman's bluff with {7-Spades}{5-Clubs} no good against Yan's {9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Moorman isn't out, but he's a short-stack now.

We've been losing players steadily the last hour, with Boris Becker and Griffin Benger the latest couple of casualties.

Firaldo Finished: Hero Call Gone Wrong

Nível 34 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Niall Farrell
Niall Farrell

Niall Farrell made it 110,000 to go from middle position, and only Lee Wai Kiat in the big blind accepted the price. The flop came down {5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades}, and when checked to, Firaldo fired 100,000. Kiat came over the top for 340,000 total, and the Scotsman called.

Kiat's bet of 850,000 on the {8-Spades} turn was also matched before Farrell called off his remaining 1,042,000 on the {2-Clubs} river. Kiat had flopped the gin with {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, and Farrell knocked the table in defeat, revealed the {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and proceeded to seemingly scold his holecards for getting him into trouble.

Mateos Eliminates Wheeler: Gets a Compliment

Nível 34 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Jason Wheeler
Jason Wheeler

A short stacked Jason Wheeler moved all-in for 600,000, and Adrian Mateos made the call two seats over.

Jason Wheeler: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Adrian Mateos: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

"I'm gonna stand up, start walking away - all that jazz. I guarantee you a Queen will come," Jason Wheeler said grinningly, but the {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop offered no help for the American.

Neither did the {8-Hearts} turn or the {7-Clubs} river, and Wheeler's former chips were quickly merged into Mateos' stack.

"It's all good, you're one of the few Spanish guys I like," Wheeler said before shaking hands with Mateos. They exchanged pleasantries, and Wheeler headed for the exit.

Swift Rise to Chip Leader

Nível 33 : 20,000/40,000, 4,000 ante
Katie Swift has taken the chip lead...but can she keep hold of it here on Day 2?
Katie Swift has taken the chip lead...but can she keep hold of it here on Day 2?

Katie Swift has taken the chip lead in the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Main Event, and in thrilling fashion.

Swift got all of Timothy Harold's chips just after returning from the dinner break in the marquee here at Dusk Till Dawn on Day 2 and it was a suckout. The two players had history and went to a flop of {5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{8-Hearts} with Harold having opened to 85,000 pre-flop, been raised to 210,000 by Swift and calling. Post-flop, the betting action went even bigger, with Swift checked to by Harold. She bet 280,000 and Harold raised to 775,000. Swift shoved for around five million chips and Harold called for marginally less.

Katie Swift: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}
Timothy Harold: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

The turn card was a club, opening the possibility of a flush, and that four-flush came in on the river to see Harold busted and Swift catapulted into the lead with her hands physically shaking.

"I thought I was out of the door," Swift told us afterwards while stacking up the biggest chipstack across both cardrooms and the Day 2 field.

Jachtmann Coolered to Bust

Nível 32 : 15,000/30,000, 3,000 ante
Jan-Peter Jachtmann
Jan-Peter Jachtmann

Jan-Peter Jachtmann has been eliminated after walking into a very cold deck here on Day of the MILLIONS Main Event. The partypoker ambassador is out after two hands against Daniel Merrilees did for him in two deals.

First, Jachtmann got it all-in with {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} against Merrilees' {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and couldn't catch him across the {9-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts}{A-Spades} board. That was a three million chip pot, but the final hand was for just ten big blinds.

Jachtmann moved in for half of that in early position with {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and was called by the same opponent, with Merrilees holding {A-Spades}{9-Clubs} this time. The board of {5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Spades} saw Jachtmann hit the rail and propels Merrilees into real contention.

Simpson Doubles Straight Up

Ian Simpson pictured pondering the action during his Day 1 of the partypokerLIVE MILLIONS Main Event
Ian Simpson pictured pondering the action during his Day 1 of the partypokerLIVE MILLIONS Main Event

Ian Simpson came into play slightly short-stacked and shares his table with a number of absolute poker bosses in Tobias Reinkemeier, Marvin Rettenmaier, Marcel Luske and Steven van Zadelhoff.

"Yesterday's table was great fun. I don't want to play with these guys....they're all really good!" Simpson told us as he described how he doubled up.

"I played {7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and the flop came {5-}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. We'll take it. I eventually moved all-in on the river for 400,000 with 300,000 in the pot. My opponent had {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} and the ten that came on the turn potentially me whiff a bunch of draws, so it made sense. I've got 1.4 million now though, so it's going OK. I kind of hope that we're one of the first tables to break, though."

Simpson is on one of the furthest-away tables in the Dusk Till Dawn Marquee, which holds so many players that it is the third biggest cardroom in Europe on its own. Simpson may be moved, but looks like settling in for the long haul even if he changes seats.

Carr Closing in on Nine Million

Nível 31 : 12,000/24,000, 2,500 ante
Paul Carr
Paul Carr

Paul Carr was very happy to find himself in the very same seat and table on Day 2 as well, and the Irishman had been running incredibly well there last night.

It just got even better, as a raising war broke out between Ngoc Nguyen and Carr on the button. Nguyen raised to 50,000, Carr three-bet to 140,000 and Nguyen clicked it up to 425,000. Carr squeezed to 1,040,000 and Nguyen ripped it in for around 2.5m to pick up a snap-call.

Ngoc Nguyen: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}
Paul Carr: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}

The {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop gave both players a set, and the miracle one outer would not show up as the {K-Diamonds} turn and {4-Spades} river completed the board.
