partypoker Sponsored Pro Jan-Peter Jachtmann stares down Duff Charette

Duff Charette opened with a raise to 12,000 from middle position, and was quickly 3-bet to 39,000 by the player to his immediate left, before partypoker sponsored pro Jan-Peter Jachtmann put in the cold 4-bet to 101,000 from the cutoff. Charette made the call, with the 3-bettor moving out of the way and the two players going heads-up to a {6-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{j-Clubs} flop.

Charette checked, with Jachtmann continuing for 102,000. After a long dwell, Charette made the call, before the {7-Clubs} came down on the turn. Both players checked, the Charette leading out for 201,500 on the {9-Diamonds} river. Jachtmann gave Charette a long and intense staredown, before finally deciding to fold his cards and conceding the pot.

Facing a raise to 12,000 from the player in the hijack, and a call from Igor Mochalov in the cutoff, Marcel Luske made up the difference from the big blind and the three players took a {2-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{j-Hearts} flop.

Luske checked the flop to the raiser, who also checked, with Mochalov taking the lead and betting 25,000. Luske quickly called, with the original raiser folding as they went heads-up to the {2-Spades} turn. Luske check-called again, this time for the slightly dearer price of 50,000.

The {a-Diamonds} hit the river, and Luske quickly launched 125,000 into the pot. Mochalov re-checked his hole cards, announcing "fold," in a thick, Ukrainian accent, before exposing his {q-Hearts}. Luske, the gentleman that he is, reciprocated and showed him the {k-Spades}{10-Spades} for a rivered straight.

We join the action in a hand between Chris Larrea and partypoker chairman Mike Sexton, looking at a {k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop, with 87,000 in the middle.

After having called a raise pre-flop, Sexton check-called a 50,000-chip continuation bet from Larrea as the two players took a {6-Hearts} turn. Action went check-check, before the {4-Hearts} river came down, putting four-to-a-flush on board. Sexton reached for a bet of 100,000, prompting a quick fold, as he dragged in another modest pot and added it to his slowly-growing stack.

With nearly 300,000 chips in the middle, the dealer fanned the flop of {6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Pablo Brita Silva checked from the big blind and his opponent bet 100,000 on the button. Silva check-raised to 275,000 only to have his opponent move all in for 771,000. Silva thought for a brief moment and decided to make the call.

Silva turned over {j-Spades}{j-Clubs} and was up against the {a-Hearts}{4-Spades} of his opponent. The turn brought the {8-Clubs} and the river landed the {q-Clubs} sending the pot to Silva and his opponent was the first player to be eliminated.
