The joint-most expensive tournament of the 2021 GGPoker Super MILLION$ Week festival has reached the final table. In Event #6 Super High Roller with a price tag of $25,500, a field of 114 entries emerged to surpass the $2.5 million guarantee. Only the top 15 finishers received a portion of the $2.85 million prize pool and once the bubble burst, it didn't take long to set up the nine-handed final table.

American High Roller regular Seth Davies topped the leaderboard with a stack of 2,233,202, closely followed by Matthias Eibinger with 2,146,502. The next duo is also close in chips as Arsenii Malinov (1,874,837) and Aleksejs Ponakovs (1,739,135) are separated by just four big blinds.

Joao Vieira turned a max late entry into a stack of 1,294,484 while Jason Koon required a third entry to advance with a stack of 916,566. David Coleman (554,716), German player "REPTAR" (428,118), and Daniel Dvoress (212,440) completed the final table line-up.

Among those who cashed but failed to make it to the final table were Chi Zhang, David Yan, Viacheslav Buldygin, Bruno Volkmann, Sami Kelopuro, and Jargo "bungakat" Alavali. Mike Watson ended up as the bubble boy and was one of many well-known top pros in the poker scene to make an appearance during the high stakes showdown.

The blinds for the final table will be rolled back to ensure an average of at least 40 big blinds and the action of the final table will be streamed on Tuesday, March 2, on the GGPoker Twitch channel.

The Action of the Day

More than 30 players were registered when the cards went in the air and among them was also GGPoker ambassador Fedor Holz. The "retired poker pro" was streaming his Super Sunday action including the $25,500 Super High Roller and enjoyed a decent start into the tournament, quickly becoming one of the early big stacks.

However, Holz ran out of steam after the registration closed and sent his stack over to Arsenii Malinov when he jammed ace-queen into pocket aces.

Another player to dominate the action at the tables was Michael Addamo. The Aussie quickly doubled after entering during the late registration and stormed to the top of the leaderboard by quite some margin. That all changed when he was caught bluffing in a big pot by Seth Davies. Addamo then sent the remainder of his chips over to Aleksejs Ponakovs.

In the final hour of late registration, the chips went flying and the all-in showdowns continued every other minute for an extended period. The very same thing happened after the registration closed, as most late entrants vanished in quick succession. It didn't take long to reach the final three tables and that's when everything finally slowed down.

Justin Bonomo sent his chips over to Davies and Guillaume Nolet jammed into aces to miss out on the money as well. The departures of Kyle Menard and Mike Watson made it three Canadians in a row with Watson ending up as the bubble boy after a tense hand-for-hand period.

Once the min-cash was secured, one short stack after the other faltered. Matthias Eibinger soared to a big stack thanks to a spectacular double elimination and it was all over for the night a few minutes later.

Stay tuned for the conclusion of this event on March 2, as the PokerNews live reporting team will be back then to provide the action from start to finish.

Arsenii Malinov raised it up to 350,000 out of the small blind and into the big blind of table short stack Chi Zhang. The Brit had 130,099 behind and made the call.

Chi Zhang: {j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Arsenii Malinov: {k-Diamonds}{3-Spades}

On a board of {q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}, Zhang failed to connect and became the 10th place finisher. All remaining nine players will now bag and tag for tonight. The chip counts and a recap of today's action are to follow.

Vieira Doubles Through Davies

Nível 29 : 25,000/50,000, 6,000 ante

Seth Davies opened to 100,000 from under the gun and Joao Vieira jammed for 613,242 out of the big blind. Once the action was back on Davies, he instantly called.

Joao Vieira: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Seth Davies: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Vieira gained the lead on the {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop and retained it throughout the {5-Spades} turn and {4-Clubs} river.

Yan vs Malinov

Arsenii Malinov raised out of the small blind and a short-stacked David Yan in the big blind called it as one of the shortest stacks still in contention.

David Yan: {q-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Arsenii Malinov: {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

The {k-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop left Yan in desperate shape and he was drawing dead when the {2-Diamonds} followed on the turn. A meaningless {6-Spades} river completed the board and Yan departed in 11th place.

Bruno Volkmann Eliminated in 13th Place / Viacheslav Buldygin Eliminated in 12th Place ($51,922 each)

Daniel Dvoress doubled through Bruno Volkmann to leave the Brazilian on just three big blinds.

On the next hand, Matthias Eibinger open-jammed the cutoff for more than 1.3 million, and Volkmann called from the big blind. Viacheslav Buldygin also called for the 456,576 he had behind in the big blind.

Bruno Volkmann: {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Viacheslav Buldygin: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Matthias Eibinger: {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

Volkmann flopped an open-ended straight draw on {7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} but it was Eibinger that hit running cards to a wheel thanks to the {5-Diamonds} turn and {a-Spades} river. That sent Volkmann out in 13th place and Buldygin bowed out in 12th place, both received $51,922.

Aleksejs Ponakovs: {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

The pocket pair prevailed thanks to a board of {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and that sent Kelopuro out in 14th place.

Dvoress Left Short

Nível 28 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Joao Vieira raised to 297,500 with crumbs behind and called all-in when Daniel Dvoress pushed all-in for little more out of the big blind.

Joao Vieira: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Daniel Dvoress: {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}

The board ran out {k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Dvoress was left with just over one big blind.

He got those in with the {k-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Vieira's {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} could not deal the final blow on a {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} board.
