Approaching the Last 200

Nível 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Another four players have been sent to the rail and the two known names in that batch included Ladislav Mika and Vlad Darie.

And then the media card of Marius Pospiech also found the way to the media desk. Pospiech had bagged up slightly less than starting stack last night and was up to 40,000 before getting it in with pocket aces. His opponent had pocket queens and another queen appeared on the flop.

Two other Germans are doing much better, Peter Siemund and Martin Mulsow increased their stacks significantly.

Kokoska Bossing It

Nível 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Harry Casagrande
Harry Casagrande

Harald Casagrande just walked over to the media desk and told tournament director Thomas Lamatsch about his exit hand. The Austrian had raised with {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and picked up two callers to see a flop of {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades}. Casagrande continued for 7,500 and only Robert Kokoska called to see the {Q-Spades} turn.

Casagrande got his stack in with top pair and the straight and flush draw while Kokoska made the call with {J-Spades}{10-Spades}. Another spade on the river busted the Austrian and Kokoska is up to massive 315,000 chips. He apparently picked up pocket aces twice and pocket kings once prior to that.

Huber Busts in Three-Way Pot

Nível 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Michael Huber put his hopes and tournament life on ace-queen while Georgios Vrakas from one seat over got it in for 51,000 with the {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs} as well. Another player right after over-pushed with {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} and saw the board running out {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{7-Spades}. Huber was gone and Vrakas more than doubled.

Also out: Tamas Janicsak and Petr Satek.

Lampropoulos Left Short

Nível 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Robert Kokoska opened to 4,500 and Maria Lampropoulos defended her big blind to see a flop of {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}. The Argentinian check-called a bet of 4,200 and both players checked the {10-Spades} turn. On the {5-Diamonds} river, Lampropoulos checked and then reluctantly called the 11,700 bet by Kokoska to get shown {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for a rivered set.

Jan Bloch took all but a few chips from Marko Dominikovic after flopping quads on the board {J-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{8-Clubs} with {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and his opponent busted the hand after.

Palovic and Zipf Gone

Nível 13 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Robert Zipf
Robert Zipf

The start of the new level saw the departure of Dag Palovic and Robert Zipf, Marko Turnsek and Jan Demjan also headed to the rail.

Palovic flipped with pocket deuces against {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and a flop of {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{Q-} was no good news, a ten on the turn busted the Slovakian. Zipf had around 50,000 chips left with pocket jacks, but failed to hold up against the {A-}{10-} of an opponent.

Zipf three-bet to 15,000 and his opponent then asked for an exact count before jamming. The German called and an ace appeared right away on the flop.

Day 1a chip leader Daniel Karacic is still running as good and increased the stack.

Schmitz Busts Raz

Nível 13 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

The action started with a raise to 5,300 and Tonino Schmitz apparently flat-called from the cutoff before Friedrich Raz three-bet to 18,200 in the small blind. Back to Schmitz, who asked "why so much?" before then eventually four-betting. Raz moved all in for what looked like 90,000 and Schmitz snap-called.

Raz: {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}
Schmitz: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

The board ran out {K-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Clubs} and that was it for the Swiss. At the same table, Oliver Heppchen has also increased his stack.
