Daniel Rose Holds Commanding Lead After Day 2

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Daniel Rose
Daniel Rose

The second day of the PokerStars.net Eureka Poker Tour Rozvadov Main Event saw 287 players return to the tables of King's Casino. More than half of them would leave the biggest poker room in Europe empty-handed, as only the top 103 spots were paid at least €1,800. After eight levels — four of 45 minutes and four of 60 minutes — the field had been cut down to just 63.

Daniel Rose finished with a commanding lead. His 1.57 million in chips was far ahead of Martin Ilavsky's 841,000 and David Urban's 837,000, while Argentinian sensation Ivan "Negriin" Luca follows in fourth with 708,000.

Other big stacks and notables included Jonas Lauck (614,000), Karol Radomski (463,000), Peter Siemund (436,000), Robert Kokoska (398,000), Hannes Speiser (326,000), Amir Mozaffarian (308,000), Grzegorz Wyraz (249,000), and Dominik Paus (198,000).

Maria Lampropoulos (119,000) advanced as the last woman standing, and former European Poker Tour Vienna champion Michael Eiler bagged up a short stack of 17,000.

The day started fast and furious with 90 players being sent to the rail in the first 90 minutes. Among those to bust early were Michal Polchlopek, Dag Palovic, Roman Cieslik, Marius Pospiech, Harald Casagrande, Yehuda Cohen, and start-of-the-day chip leader Quentin Dellis.

Frantisek Bures bluffed away his stack in a big pot against Martin Kabrhel, and Josef Pavelka exited just shy of the money when his kings got cracked by the pocket jacks of Petr Machacek.

The bubble burst one hand before the dinner break thanks to two all-in situations. Martin Guth moved all in with pocket jacks for 10 big blinds from the button and Radomski found an ace with the {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. Elsewhere, Wyraz three-bet jammed with the {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} from the button and Day 1c chip leader Arsenii Karmatckii called from the small blind with the {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}. An ace on the flop put the Pole in desperate shape, but he turned a straight and doubled to crown Guth as the sole "bubble boy."

After the dinner break, two dozen players exited within quick succession, including Martin Mulsow (91st) and Oliver Heidel (95th). Heidel lost all his chips within three hands to Paus.

Other notables in the money were Danilo Velasevic (99th), Feryat Toprakli (81st), Roland Gerga (74th), and Thomas Pedersen (67th).

Rose skyrocketed into the top spot in back-to-back hands towards the end of the day. He first flopped a straight in a three-way pot to bust Boris Andreev. Then, Rose won a big pot with a set of eights against Mateusz Martewicz, who had a combo draw and missed.

Day 3 will resume on Monday at 2 p.m. local time with Level 19 and blinds of 5,000/10,000 and a running ante of 1,000. The goal of the penultimate Main Event day is to reach the final table of six. Follow all the key hands right here on PokerNews to see who makes it into the spotlight on Tuesday.

Ilavsky Wins It all Back; Busts Chatzpoulos

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Martin Ilavsky
Martin Ilavsky

Martin Ilavsky raised with deuces and Marek Blasko as well as one further player called. They checked a {8-}{8-}{2-} flop and Blasko then bet the {9-} turn for 27,000. The third player in the hand folded, Ilavsky raised to 67,000 and was called. A blank {4-} river saw Blasko check-call 175,000 with pocket tens while Ilavsky showed deuces for a flopped full house.

Then, Apostolos Chatzopoulos was at risk with {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and found a caller after some preflop action in Ilavsky. The Slovakian held {J-Spades}{J-Hearts} and found the {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop ... .

Last but not least, Dragoslav Timarac raised to 18,000 and Blasko shoved from one seat over. Dusan Privoznik called all in for 91,000 out of the big blind and Timarac quickly folded.

Privoznik: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Blasko: {A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

The board ran out {6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Spades} and Blasko was suddenly cut down all the way to 13 big blinds.

Three Hands to go!

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

After all the massive action, the clock has been stopped and three more hands will be played.

According to the screens, there are 63 players remaining but that may change slightly still.

Rose Wins Monster Pots to Bust Andreev and Martewicz

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Mateusz Martewicz
Mateusz Martewicz

In the first hand, Mateusz Martewicz raised from early position and was called by Boris Andreev and Daniel Rose in the blinds. On the flop {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, Andreev led for 30,000 and Rose raised to 110,000.

Martewicz now min-clicked to 190,000 and Andreev then moved all in for slightly more. Rose announced all in himself for more than 400,000 and Martewicz tank-folded.

Andreev: {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}
Rose: {Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

The board completed with the {A-Clubs} turn and {K-Diamonds} river, Martewicz ran off the table after having folded a ten-high flush draw as per his table talk.

One hand later, Martewicz raised from under the gun and Rose as well as Martin Ilavsky called in the blinds. The trio checked through the {J-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Spades} flop. On the {5-Hearts} turn, Rose bet 35,000 and Ilavsky raised to 125,000. Martewicz declared all in for half a million and Rose shoved as well with the biggest stack.

Ilavsky tank-folded and claimed to have had pocket tens.

Martewicz: {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Rose: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

The {J-Diamonds} river changed nothing whatsoever and Rose skyrocket up to more than 1.5 million!!!

Yildirim Scores Big Double

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Joining the action on the {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades} turn, Mahmut Yildirim bet 22,000 from the small blind and Andriy Palyuga moved all in with the superior stack. Yildirim almost folded but then called for his tournament life and 92,000 chips with the {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}.

Palyuga only had {K-Spades}{J-Clubs} and the {6-Clubs} river blanked. "Woah, I almost folded," Yildirim added.

Jose Rouco Rodriguez four-bet jammed for what looked like 130,000 and Jonas Lauck, who had three-bet to 35,000 from two seats over, snap-called with pocket nines. Rodriguez only had pocket eights and found no help on a queen-high board.
