Dubinskyy Crushes Auer

Nível 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

First Robert Auer got his stack in after the {Q-Spades} {10-} {3-} flop against Igor Dubinskyy's {K-Spades} {J-Spades} and the German was slightly ahead with {A-} {Q-}. The {9-Spades} on the turn guaranteed the double up for the World Series of Poker bracelet winner from the Ukraine and the {10-Spades} on the river just rubbed it in even more to give Dubinskyy a straight flush.

Auer had 5,500 chips left and those vanished with pocket sevens against the very same opponent's {K-} {Q-} with a king on the turn.

Stausholm All In

Nível 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Walking by the table of Martin Stausholm, the Dane was all in after the river of a {9-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {8-Hearts} board. His opponent had bet 6,250 into a pot of 9,200 and then folded to the shove of Stausholm.

Shak Busy; Phillips Has Time On His Hands

Nível 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Dan Shak is a busy man. He has a tablet on his lap and a laptop with some fiendishly complicated looking spreadsheets open on a table beside him. Not only that he was involved in a four-way three-bet pot preflop which each player putting on 1,025.

The flop was {2-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and Shak folded to a bet of 2,025.

As he folded Dennis Phillips walked past on the way to the exit having failed to recover from his earlier setbacks and has bust.

Derkowski Among Big Stacks

Nível 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

According to our German colleagues, Gregor Derkowski profited from a set-over-set situation to knock out one opponent with fives versus fours and has more than double the starting stack.

Nennum Rivers Demidov

Nível 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

We arrived at the table with the board already spread out {q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{8-Hearts}.

Per Nennum checked from under the gun before Ivan Demidov bet out 4,000 in chips. Nennum then bumped it up to 9,000 which got Demidov thinking.

Over a minute passed before Demidov reluctantly moved all in and was called shortly after by Nennum who had less.

Demidov: {6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Nennum: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

Demidov was in control with a turned flush against Nennum’s set of nines. That was until the dealer dropped the {8-Spades} on the river giving Nennum the full house and the winning hand.

Geilich Must Bet

Nível 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Ludovic Geilich
Ludovic Geilich

Ludovic Geilich won a big pot early on, and if he has chips he is seemingly genetically programmed to use them to accumulate more whenever possible.

The pot was opened for 450 and there was one caller before Geilich called in position and the big blind put in the calling chips.

Four players saw a flop was {7-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{5-Spades} and it was checked to Geilich who’s primordial instinct kicked In. His hand went to his chips and a bet of 900 hit the felt. The other players released their cards and the pot was his.

Not much you can do

Nível 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Ghassan Yared was all in after the river of a {4-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {A-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {K-Spades} board for what looked like 10,000 chips and showed {A-Hearts} {K-Clubs} for top two pair and a nut flush draw after the turn that didn't complete. His opponent rolled over {4-Hearts} {4-Spades} for quads and Yared sighed "oh wow, nice hand," before leaving the tournament area.

The Kings versus Aces Story Again

Nível 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Alerted by a loud "yessss" in the tournament area, we headed over to table 65 and the {2-Spades} {K-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {7-Clubs} board was already complete. It turns out that the pocket aces of Sergey Serafimov were cracked by the {K-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} of Benito La Marca after a huge preflop all in and one opponent had even folded {A-} {K-} to leave both with one out only. The Italian doubled up for 28,800 and celebrated as if he had already won the tournament.

Jovanovic Doomed; Others as well

Nível 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

After a raise to 550 by Soren Hansen and a call by Zeljko Jovanovic, a third player in the hand raised to 1,875 and Hansen called that. Jovanovic moved all in for 8,400 and the third player in the hand folded whereas Hansen called. The Dane had {10-Diamonds} {10-Spades} and immediately spiked a set to dash all hopes of Jovanovic with {7-Spades} {7-Diamonds} on a board of {9-Spades} {3-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {6-Spades} {3-Clubs}.

Other big names were as fortunate and you can find their names in the bustouts below.

High Roller Chip Counts

Nível 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

The EPT Main Event started yesterday, but before that the poker festival in Prague was home to the €50,000 Super High Roller. 42 players entered, with 9 re entries. We covered that tournament from start to finish, seeing Martin Jacobson bubble and Leonid Markin win it all.

Some of the players who entered that tournament, are giving it another try today in the Main Event. We tracked down a couple and got their chip counts:
