Hossein Ensan check-called a 5,000 bet from Martin Staszko on a flop of {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{q-Spades}. The turn card brought the {j-Spades} and another check from Ensan saw Staszko move the remainder of his chips over the line, around 30,000.

Ensan sat back in his chair clearly unhappy at the development, perhaps feeling that Staszko was making a move on him. Ensan wasn’t that curious though as he folded and Staszko collected the pot.

Farag Sends Chattha Packing

After a series of preflop raises, Charles Chattha found himself all in against Fadhil Farag for approximately 43,000. Chattha rolled over {a-Spades}{k-Spades} but was dejected to find that Farah held {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}.

The flop came down {4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, giving Chattha a small glimmer of hope with a backdoor straight draw. Those dreams were dashed on the turn, however, as the {4-Clubs} struck the felt. The {q-Hearts} completed the board and Chattha was eliminated from play.

Farag's victory brought his stack up to about 80,000 in chips.

After a raise and a call it was Rob Hollink who moved all in for right around 18,000, according to Frederik Jensen who was kind enough to relay the Dutchman's exit to us.

The action folded to the caller, Gaetano Dell'Aera and he made the call holding {A-}{K-}. Hollink showed {A-}{Q-} and the board brought no help for the EPT Grand Final winner from Season 1.

Cody Gets the River Shove Through

Pablo Garzon Lobato raised to 2,000 preflop before Darie Vlad made it 4,700 in position. Team PokerStars Pro Jake Cody then four-bet to 10,100 from the buttton. Lobato folded but Vlad made the call.

The flop was {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and Vlad check-called a bet of 7,300 before both players checked the {A-Clubs} turn. The {J-Clubs} on the river saw Vlad lead for 6,600 with about 20,000 behind. Cody tanked for a couple of minutes before moving all in, Vlad thought for two minutes himself before he eventually folded.

Shahade Checked

Jennifer Shahade, PokerStars Mind Sports Ambassador and holder of the FIDE chess title Woman Granmaster, is a deep thinker as well as a quick wit. She was on a table with Dave “Devilfish” Ulliott yesterday and was moved to comment after one of Ulliott’s jokes, “If you’re gonna be sexist, please be funny.”

Shahade opened the action from first position and picked up one caller in big blind Joni Jouhkimainen. The flop was {2-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and Shahade responded to a check from her opponent by manoeuvring out a bet of 4,000. Jouhkimainen made the call and the turn card {q-Spades} saw both players check. The river {2-Spades} saw Jouhkimainen put out a bet of 3,700 which saw Shahade study the board for a couple of minutes before surrendering her cards.

We arrived in time to see Leo Margets, Jamie Burland, and a third player looking down at a board of {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}. Margets had first action and she checked over to Burland. he fired out 3,500 and the button quickly folded.

Margets thought for a moment before reaching into her stack and moving out a check-raise to 8,300. Burland pondered for a bit but ultimately opted to lay his hand down. Margets took down the pot and has now eclipsed the 80,000-chip mark.
