Samuel Fournier opened 100,000 in the cutoff, and Ilija Savevski called on the button before Alin Grasu defended the big blind.
The dealer fanned a flop of 7♣6♦3♣, and once checked to Fournier continued for 115,000. Savevski raised to 375,000 and only Fournier made the call.
The 5♠ hit the turn, and Fournier check-called a bet of 675,000.
When the 3♦ completed the board, Fournier checked to Savevski who pushed a bet of 2,000,000 across the line. Fournier tanked before deciding to rip his entire stack of 3,175,000 into the middle, and Savevski called.
Fournier turned over 7♦5♦ for two pair, but was shown the bad news as Savevski tabled 6♥6♣ for a full house.
Almost immediately after, Savevski won another pot of about 1,300,000 with pocket kings against David Kaufmann on a 9♥5♦6♣7♥5♥ board.
French poker player Thomas Santerne had a monster stack moments ago but found himself on the wrong side of the rail. A majority of his stack went to chip leader Blaz Zerjav, who has been on an upward trajectory throughout the day.
The hand that saw Zerjav get the commanding lead was recapped by the players at the table.
Zerjav opened to 100,000 and called when Santerne three-bet to 450,000 from the small blind.
Zerjav called bets of 500,000 and 950,000 on the flop and turn for the board to read 9x7x4x6x5x. Santerne, with 1,700,000 behind, fired out 1,300,000. Zerjav moved all in and Santerne folded, leaving himself with 400,000.
A few hands later, Santerne was eliminated by another player.
Moments after Radoslav Stoyanov busted from the same table, Thomas Santerne was all in preflop for 500,000 against Pavlos Xanthopoulos. Santerne was at risk as the cards were turned.
Thomas Santerne: A♦9♦
Pavlos Xanthopoulos: A♥K♦
The board ran out 10♠K♥6♠7♣K♣. Xanthopoulos had Santerne dominated and by the river had further improved to make trip kings, sending Santerne to the rail.
Alexandre Le Vaillant moved all in for 500,000 from middle position. Arne Coulier put his last 230,000 into the middle from the small blind before Pierre Merlin called from the big blind to put both players at risk of elimination.
Arne Coulier: A♠5♠
Alexandre Le Vaillant: K♥Q♦
Pierre Merlin: A♦10♣
Le Vaillant was the only player to connect on the Q♥J♠3♣3♥7♠ runout to get a double and change while also eliminating Coulier.
Dorian Melchers opened to 100,000 from early position before Scott Margereson jammed for 745,000 from middle position. Johan Creutz put in his last 320,000 from the small blind and Melchers folded.
Johan Creutz: A♣Q♦
Scott Margereson: K♣J♣
Creutz was the favorite to double until Margereson paired up on the K♦6♥3♠ flop. The 5♦ turn and 3♥ river kept the bigger stack ahead and Creutz was eliminated.
Francesco Biribao was all in from middle position for 135,000, just a few big blinds. Stefan Dimitrov called and the player in the big blind also came along.
The flop came 6♠6♣5♣. The big blind checked and Dimitrov bet 75,000. His opponent vacated the pot and two players flipped their cards.
Francesco Biribao: 10♦8♦
Stefan Dimitrov: A♣3♣
The turn came the K♥ and the river was the 3♥. Dimitrov was already ahead and paired his three on the river. He won the pot and Biribao was eliminated from the tournament.
