Wheeler Among the Early Casualties

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

A rather upset Jason Wheeler was spotted on his way out of the tournament as his run came to a very early end after fewer than 30 minutes of play. According to Wheeler, a player miss-clicked a call and was forced to raise after which Wheeler then moved all-in. The sigh-call of the opponent got there and that spelled the end for Wheeler.

Nasrodin Pirmamod also ran out of chips in the first level as Daniel Smiljkovic claimed them.

Sikora Wins Early Pot With River Bet

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Cedric Schwaederle limped from middle position and Andrzej Sikora limped behind. Marian Cantea raised over the limpers and both other players called.

The flop came {7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Schwaederle and Sikora checked and Cantea made a continuation bet of 1,300. Schwaederle folded and Sikora called.

The turn came the {9-Hearts}. Sikora checked, Cantea bet and Sikora called.

The river was the {5-Clubs}. This time, Sikora made a large lead bet. Cantea folded, and Sikora took down the first pot played on the table.

Bigot Chips Up Early

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Three ways to the {q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop, it checked to Konstantin Färber on the button and he bet 700. Michael Attias folded and Fabrice Bigot on the other side of the dealer didn't notice before he was made aware of it, prompting a quick call in the cutoff thereafter.

Both active players checked the {a-Hearts} on the turn and the {k-Hearts} fell on the river. Bigot checked again and Färber bet 1,500. The check-raise of Bigot to 8,000 followed and that won the pot without resistance.

All Downhill From Here for Bradley

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

The UK's Ian Bradley has been spotted in the field and he bemoaned a rather quick exit in the €25,000 Single-Day High Roller where he never got anything going.

In the very first hand on his three-handed table here, the small blind limped in and Bradley raised it up to 1,000. Daniel De Almeida as the limper folded and Bradley showed the {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}.

"It's only going to go donmhill from here," the Brit joked.

Welcome to Day 1 of the 2023 EPT Paris €2,200 FPS High Roller

EPT Logo
EPT Logo

The inaugural 2023 PokerStars European Poker Tour Paris stop at the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile is in full swing. Some side event and the first two High Roller trophies have already been awarded while the festival is gearing up for the flagship EPT €5,300 Main Event.

Another tournament that has enjoyed a tremendous turnout was the France Poker Series (FPS) €1,100 Main Event, which drew a total of 2,071 runners and is down to the final 61 players. Many of those who took part are also expected to join the action in the respective FPS Paris €2,200 High Roller, which is already sold out prior to the start. Some 586 enthusiasts are listed so far but that is certainly not the final number for the tournament.

Over the next two days, a winner will be crowned, and the action is set to get underway at noon local time. All participants start with 30,000 in chips, and each level on Day 1 lasts 40 minutes each. A single reentry option is available until the start of Level 11, after which the registration period concludes at approximately 8.55 pm local time.

The first of two tournament days is scheduled to play down to the money with approximately 15% of the field earning a portion of the seven-figure prize pool. There will be a 20-minute break every two to three levels and a 75-minute dinner break upon completion of Level 10.

All players who still have chips at their disposal will have locked up a cash prize and return the following day at noon local time to determine a champion. Stay tuned for all the poker action from the French capital right here on PokerNews as the live reporting team is on the floor to provide exclusive updates from all marquee events.
