Dia 1b Iniciado
The 2023 edition of the traditional PokerStars EPT presented by Monte-Carlo Casino® stop is well underway. A staple of the schedule, the €2,200 France Poker Series (FPS) High Roller, is set to have its second flight start at 6 p.m. local time.
Earlier in the series, the €1,100 FPS Main Event broke records by attracting 2,138 entries. The High Roller event is aspiring to set a new all-time high as well. Last year’s FPS High Roller at EPT Monte Carlo attracted 861 runners, but the edition at 2023 EPT Paris has the current attendance record of 910 players.
With Day 1a already having 776 registrations at the time of writing, and late registration still open until 9 p.m., this iteration of the prestigious event is on its way to raising the bar even higher. Both Day 1a and Day 1b have the option for unlimited reentries.
All levels on Day 1b will last 20 minutes; half of Day 1a’s are 40-minutes. The turbo-like structure is bound to guarantee plenty of fast action as the field plays down to approximately 15%. The players can enjoy 20-minute breaks every five to six levels, and late registration is open for the first ten levels.
All players who make Day 2 will guarantee themselves a part of the prize pool, as it starts in the money. Play will resume Sunday at 1 p.m. local time and a winner will be crowned at the end of the day.
Stay tuned to PokerNews as the live reporting team provides all the poker action of the FPS High Roller from start to finish and be sure to check out the other iconic tournaments reported on from idyllic Monaco over at the EPT Monte Carlo Tournament Hub.
The start of Day 1b is delayed by a bit as players are slowly but surely taking their seats.

With 77 players on the clock, the ''Shuffle up and deal'' has officially been announced. Cards are in the air and action is underway on Day 1b of the €2,200 FPS High Roller.
A flop of 10♣4♦Q♠ was spread in a pot of 2,000 between Karim Souaid in the hijack and Mohammad Moayeri in the cutoff. Souaid bet 500 and Moayeri followed with a call. The turn of J♥ checked around before the river 6♠ saw Moayeri pick up chips again. This time, he fired out a bet of 2,100 and that was enough to garner a fold from his opponent.
On another table, there was a 5,500 pot brewing between Kent Roed on the button and Saar Wilf in the small blind. On a completed board of 10♣10♠3♥J♥9♣, Wilf led out for 3,300 chips and Roed quickly threw his hand into the muck.

There was 5,500 in the middle and cutoff Philippe Magnus added 2,300 more to that on a board of 2♣5♥Q♠6♥. Jack O'Neill was on the button and made the call.
The pair saw the Q♦ river appear and Magnus upped the ante to 3,500. O'Neill was evidently pleased with the river, as he put out a raise to 10,000. Magnus did not deem his hand worthy of that amount and quickly folded.

A sizable 6,000 was in the middle on a board that read A♠4♦A♥5♥ and Alexandre Moreau made a bet of 3,000 from under the gun after a check from big blind Jean-Pierre Pellegrini. Pellegrini made the call and the two saw the K♥ dealt as the river.
Pellegrini checked again and Moreau bet 8,000. Again, Pellegrini quickly called, but he could not beat the trips of Moreau, who tabled A♣2♣, and mucked his hand while complimenting the one of his opponent.

The pot had grown to a size of roughly 7,000 when the action was caught. On a board of 2♠7♥K♠, Ludovic Sultan checked from middle position to Mihails Morozovs in the cutoff. Morozovs promptly put the 10,400 he had remaining in the middle and Sultan snap-called.
Mihails Morozovs: A♦K♣
Ludovic Sultan: J♠10♠
Morozovs was in the lead with his top pair/top kicker and faded Sultan's flush draw on the 4♦4♣ runout. Morozov's stack increased to nearly starting stack, while Sultan handed over some of his hard-earned chips.
