Skrbic Takes a Hit as Tomas Picks Off a Bluff

Nível 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

A pot of around 45,000 was already in the middle as chip leader Milos Skrbic and fellow big stack Joao Tomas went to the river on a board of 91047A.

Skrbic, in the cutoff, then bet 40,000. Tomas tanked for nearly two minutes in the small blind before tossing a chip in the middle to signify a call.

Skrbic instantly mucked his hand and Tomas took the pot without a showdown. Despite losing that pot, Skrbic was still left with nearly 500,000, while Tomas climbed over 300,000.

Buckley Gets a Boost

Nível 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Ran Shahar opened to 4,000 from under the gun before Boris Angelov three-bet to 12,000 from middle position. Mark Buckley called from the hijack and Shahar also matched the raise.

Angelov checked and Shahar continued for 14,000 on the 973 flop. Buckley then shipped in his stack for 31,000. Shahar went into the tank but opted to fold. Angelov hesitated and put Buckley on "kings or aces" and decided to fold.

Van Brugge Back to Start

Nível 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Kees van Brugge raised to 4,000 from early position and the action folded all the way to Lars Kamphues in the big blind, who defended. Van Brugge then made a 3,500 continuation-bet on K96 and Kamphues check-called. Van Brugge then upped the ante to 15,500 on the 4 turn and another check-call followed from Kamphues.

Both players decided to check on the subsequent 9 river, leading Kamphues to show his KJ for flopped top pair. Van Brugge mucked his cards and is back to where he started the day from.

Machado Misses a Big Draw

Nível 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Aleksei Istomin bet 4,000 on a flop of 1099 from under the gun and Hugo Machado called in the small blind. Xuming Qi then raised to 16,500 in the big blind and Istomin called.

Machado responded by moving all in for around 50,000 and Qi got out of the way. Istomin, though, snap-called to put Machado at risk.

Hugo Machado: KQ
Aleksei Istomin: A9

Istomin had flopped trip nines, while Machado had both straight and flush draws and needed to hit to stay alive. Istomin took out his phone and began filming the action as the 5 fell on the turn, followed by the 8 river as Machado missed everything to hit the rail.

"I was thinking a worse nine. Jack-nine, queen-nine, something like that," Istomin explained to a tablemate after Machado had made his exit.

Patrick Tardif and Christopher Frank also recently busted on other tables.

Middleton Hits, Still Loses

Nível 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Mohamad El Sayed jammed all in for 19,500 once the action had folded to him in the cutoff. Tom Middleton sat in the small blind and asked for a count before making the call.

Mohamad El Sayed: A8
Tom Middleton: KJ

Middleton paired his jack on the J29 flop and the 6 turn saw him maintain his lead. However, the A river saw El Sayed hit his three-outer, leading to an audible "oh my god" from the Lebanese player. He doubled up and overtook Middleton in the chip counts.

Joyce Flipped to the Rail

Nível 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Philip Joyce moved all in for around 50,000 from the hijack and Piotr Wiecek called on the button.

Philip Joyce: AQ
Piotr Wiecek: JJ

Wiecek's jacks stayed in front on the 523 flop, while Joyce failed to connect with either the 8 turn or 5 river and tapped the felt before wishing the table luck and heading for the exit.
