Deak Chips Up With River Bet

Nível 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Danut Chisu raised to 25,000 from the button and Ferenc Deak three-bet to 93,000 from the small blind. The big blind got out of the way and Chisu called.

The flop was {k-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts} and Deak bet 45,000. Chisu called and the turn was {q-Spades}.

Both players checked the turn to see {9-Clubs} on the flop. Deak fired 200,000 and Chisu went into the tank for a moment before he finally got away from it to give up the pot.

Soenmez Chips Up; Golder Doubles His Short Stack

Nível 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Erkan Soenmez
Erkan Soenmez

Heads-up to the {6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop, Jaime Cervantes bet 80,000 when checked to by Erkan Soenmez and the latter called. They checked the {j-Diamonds} on the turn and Soenmez led the {2-Hearts} river for 180,000.

Cervantes quickly folded and Soenmez flashed the {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds} for good measure before collecting the pot.

One table over, Jason Wheeler raised from under the gun and then called the short stack push by Daniel Golder for 78,000 on the button.

Daniel Golder: {j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Jason Wheeler: {a-Spades}{3-Spades}

Golder took the lead on the {9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop to which Wheeler said "a five would be dirty". Nothing changed on the {j-Hearts} turn except that Golder made two pair as Wheeler now had four outs left. "A five would still be dirty," he joked.

However, the {k-Clubs} river was no threat for Golder and the Brit doubled.

Kagawa Eliminated by Wheeler

Nível 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Rintaro Kagawa
Rintaro Kagawa

Jason Wheeler made it 27,000 to go and ultimately called the three-bet shove by Rintaro Kagawa out of the blinds for 287,000.

Rintaro Kagawa: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Jason Wheeler: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

The {k-Clubs} appeared in the window and the rest of the flop showed {j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} to give Wheeler the lead with a pair of kings. Kagawa needed an ace, ten or running hearts to avoid elimination but found no help on the {j-Clubs} turn and {6-Hearts} river.

"I didn't like it," Wheeler said in table chat referring to his call but it ultimately turned out to be a profitable decision. Kagawa's run ended in 45th place for a payday of €16,440.

Stephan Salzmann: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Francky Magliocco: {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Magliocco flopped a set of eights only to improve to quads on the river to knock Salzmann out of the tournament.

Over at the featured table, Ramon Colillas opened to 20,000 on the button and Arthur Conan three-bet to 75,000 in the small blind. Colillas called.

The dealer spread the {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop and Conan led for 42,000. Colillas then raised to 100,000, and Conan called.

The {6-Hearts} landed on the turn and Conan check-called a bet of 100,000.

The {3-Hearts} completed the board and Conan led for 230,000. Colillas used a couple of time extensions and eventually put in a single chip to signify a call.

Conan turned over {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, while Colillas tabled {j-Hearts}{j-Spades} to take the sizable pot with a flush as the PokerStars Ambassador soared near the top of the leaderboard.

Cardot Puts a Dent Into Simoes' Stack

Nível 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

After defending the big blind against a raise by chip leader Marcelo Simoes, Yannick Cardot checked the {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop. What followed was a check-raise to Simoes' continuation bet and they ultimately got it in with Cardot as the player at risk for 297,000.

Yannick Cardot: {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Marcelo Simoes: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

The top two pair remained ahead throughout the {6-Spades} turn and {5-Hearts} river as Cardot locked up the double.
