With 55 players out of 371 entries surviving Day 1a of the €1,100 FPS Main Event here at the 2022 PokerStars European Poker Tour presented by Monte-Carlo Casino, the long day has come to an end after 14 hours.

Claiming the Day 1a chip lead is Alexander Tkatschew with 650,000 in his bag for Day 2 on Saturday, April 30 at noon local time.

Tkatschew was near the top of the leaderboard throughout much of the day but he really extended his lead in the last hour of the night when he eliminated PokerStars Team Pro Ramon Colillas. After that, it was put in cruise control for Tkatschew who had no problems navigating the money bubble.

Some other notable stacks moving on to Day 2 include Giulio Astarita (524,000), Alessandro Adinolfo (427,000), and Florian Decamps (417,000), as the only players with over 400,000 chips. A few names to recognize that have locked up at least a min-cash are Andrea Rocci (351,000), Bryan Paris (325,000), Jason Wheeler (270,000), Leo Margets (125,000), and Julien Sitbon (56,000).

Labat Eliminated on the Bubble

Nível 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Antoine Labat buble boy day 1a
Antoine Labat buble boy day 1a

Tomas Jozonis opened to 13,000 in early position and Antoine Labat jammed all in for 150,000 in the cutoff. Kacper Swiderski re-shoved all in for 220,000 in the big blind which got Jozonis to quickly muck.

Antoine Labat: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Kacper Swiderski: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The action completed at the other tables and the dealer fanned the flop of {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. The {k-Clubs} on the turn gave Swiderski a set of kings which meant Labat was drawing dead to the {7-Spades} on the river.

The remaining 55 players will now bag their chips as they have reached the money and will return for Day 2 on April 30. Full chip counts and a recap of the day's action will be soon to follow.

Sofia Lovgren

There was a raise to 2,100 from the button and the small blind had called. Sofia Lovgren was in the big blind and pushed all in for 6,800. The button re-raised to just over 16,000 which got the small blind out of the way.

Ramon Colillas
Ramon Colillas

There was a raise to 1,200 in early position and Ramon Colillas re-raised to 3,500 from the hijack. The cutoff called along with Christophe Panetti in the big blind. The three players saw a flop of {a-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} which stirred up some action.

Colillas continued with a bet of 4,000 and the cutoff min-raised to 8,000. Panetti just called and Colillas countered with a three-bet to 24,000. The cutoff laid his hand down and Panetti stuck in the last of his 19,000 chips.

Christophe Panetti: {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Ramon Colillas: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The {9-Clubs} on the turn gave Panetti some more outs with a pair and a flush draw but the {2-Clubs} on the river was a brick as Colillas collected the last of Panetti's chips.

Nível 4 : 200/400, 400 ante
Christopher Puetz (during EPT Prague)
Christopher Puetz (during EPT Prague)

The player in the early position raised to 1,300 from the early position and Christopher Puetz called from the middle position. The players on the button and in the small blind after a lengthy tank from the latter player. Alessandro Adinolfo was sitting in the big blind and considered his options for a while too. In the end, he three-bet shoved for 13,100. The initial raiser contemplated for some time too before reluctantly folding. Puetz thought about it and then decided to four-bet jam for more for the other two players to quickly get out of their way.

Alessandro Adinolfo: {q-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Christopher Puetz: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The flop came {j-Spades}{7-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for both of them to hit top pair but for Puetz to stay ahead with the king-kicker.

The turn was the {9-Spades} to give Adinolfo two pair but it also gave Puetz the higher flush draw.

The river completed the board with the {3-Spades} to give both of them the flush but for Puetz to knock Adinolfo out of the tournament for now with the king-high flush.

Nível 3 : 100/300, 300 ante
Antoine Labat
Antoine Labat

Picking up the action on the turn with the board reading {j-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, three players were still in the hand with a little over 5,000 in the middle. The action checked to Antoine Labat who shoved all in for his remaining 5,400. Diego Angeli quickly flicked in the chips to call and the other player got out of the way.

Antoine Labat: {k-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Diego Angeli: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Labat turned top pair but his kicker was not enough to overcome that of Angeli. The {k-Hearts} improved both players on the river but it was not enough for Labat who was sent to the rail just before the first break of the day.
