One of the most anticipated events of the 2022 PokerStars and Barcelona©Casino European Poker Tour will begin today at 12:30 p.m. local time.
The €100,000 Super High Roller will bring out some of poker’s elite players, all chasing a share of what will be a massive prize pool.
In 2019, the last time this event was held at EPT Barcelona, Sergi Reixach prevailed over a field of 64 entries, defeating Sam Grafton heads-up for €1,816,210. Mikita Badziakouski won the inaugural event in 2018, taking home €1,650,300.

Players begin with 250,000 chips and play 60-minute levels. Day 1 will consist of eight levels, with a 20-minute break every two levels.
Unlimited reentries are allowed and late registration will be open until the start of Day 2. This event will utilize a 30-second shot clock and players will receive eight time bank chips at the start of play. The final table on Day 3 will be streamed by PokerStars Live on Twitch and YouTube.
The PokerNews live reporting team will be on hand the next three days as the biggest names in poker take their shot at this marquee title.

The action was picked up on the river in a pot of roughly 25,000 on a board showing . David Peters put some thought in before betting 24,000 into Artur Martirosian.
Without much deliberation, Martirosian made the call and the cards were tabled. Peters rolled over for the turned straight while Martirosian showed for the bigger straight, taking down the early pot.

Stephen Chidwick raised to 2,500 from the hijack and was called by Juan Pardo in the big blind.
The flop came and Pardo checked over to Chidwick, who bet 5,000. Pardo called and both players checked the turn.
Pardo led out for 12,000 on the river and Chidwick used a time bank before giving up his hand.
Mike Watson, who won the €50,000 High Roller early this morning, is among a group of players who have joined the field, bringing the total number of entries to 32.

Nick Petrangelo, Ben Heath, and Aleksejs Ponakovs were three-handed on the turn with the board showing and around 80,000 already in the pot.
Ponakovs, in the big blind, used a time bank before checking. Heath quickly checked, but Petrangelo also went into his time banks before emerging with a bet of 60,000. Ponakovs folded, but Heath called.

Action folded to Michael Addamo in the cutoff who opened for 3,000 and only Timothy Adams made the call on the button.
The flop came , Addamo bet 1,000 and Adams elected on a raise to 5,500, which Addamo completed. On the turn both players checked their options.
Things heated up on the river when Addamo checked to Adams who bet 8,500. After a couple time bank cards were tossed in, Addamo decided on a raise to 115,000. Adams went well in the tank, thinking for several minutes. He counted down his time bank cards and saw he didn't have many left. With time ticking down, Adams eventually tossed in a chip for the call. Addamo rolled over for a royal flush and best hand possible. Adams mucked and the large pot was sent to Addamo.

Shortly after taking that big pot off Ben Heath and Aleksejs Ponakovs, Nick Petrangelo would give some back to his Latvian opponent.
Ponakovs three-bet to 7,500 from middle position and Petrangelo, in early position, called to see the flop. He checked to Ponakovs, who continued for 10,000.
Petrangelo called as the turn came the . He checked once again and Ponakovs used a time bank before also checking.
The river came the and Ponakovs bet 32,000 this time. Petrangelo called, but mucked when Ponakovs turned over .
