Day 2 of the £3,000 Platinum Pass Mystery Bounty at PokerStars European Poker Tour London has come to an end with just over 10 minutes left in Level 24 and Robert Macsim is the chip leader going into the Day 3 finale. The remaining 16 players will return on Wednesday at 12 p.m. local time to play down to a winner.

The tournament drew 461 players and generated a prize pool of £791,076, from which tomorrow’s winner will take home £154,426. The remaining 16 players are all guaranteed at least £8,300.

Macsim has the chip lead after a late run that put him ahead of Andrew Wilson, who sits in second place after holding the chip lead for much of the day. Michael Sklenicka, Pavel Plesuv, and Blaz Zerjav round out the top five.

Day 2 Action

The action on Day 2 got off to a fast start when the big bounty was claimed by Iacopo Brandi. Brandi was one of the first players to go up and draw an envelope, and he drew the £100,000 top prize. Brandi is still in the tournament and he returns with just over 400,000.

Other big prizes were pulled by players that still remain in the tournament, including a £25,000 bounty that was won by Wilson. Yasuhiro Waki and chip leader Macsim both picked up a £10,000 prize.

Wilson steadily built his stack throughout the middle stages of the day and held the chip lead throughout the later stages of the evening, but Macsim passed him late in the evening to claim the Day 3 chip lead. The leader rebounded from an early setback after he ran a bluff into Alexandre Landron’s two pair and picked up well over a million chips in the closing stages of play.

Chris Moorman
Chris Moorman

Chris Moorman and Steve O’Dwyer were among those that finished in the money but won’t return for Day 2. O’Dwyer’s day came to an end when he got into a three-way pot with Stephen Kehoe and Kenny Hallaert. Hallaert had both players covered with king-queen, but Kehoe held on with pocket sixes to beat O’Dwyers pocket fours to take the pot. Kehoe fell in the last level of the evening, while Hallaert will return tomorrow with the opportunity to spin it up. Moorman made a run to 32nd place.

A few outstanding bounties remain from throughout the day, and players will have to draw them before they can claim their winnings.

Stephen Kehoe raised to 40,000 from under the gun and Sebastien Jung called from the small blind before Michael Sklenicka shoved from the big blind for around 770,000. Kehoe committed his last 300,000 and Jung got out of the way.

Stephen Kehoe: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Michael Sklenicka: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The board ran out {q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{3-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and Sklenicka made aces and queens to eliminate Kehoe in 17th place for £8,300.

Sklenicka Doubles Into the Lead

Nível 24 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Yasuhiro Waki raised it up on the button and Michael Sklenicka stuck in a three-bet from the small blind. Waki responded with a four-bet shove and Sklenicka called off his stack of 740,000 in a massive pot.

Michael Sklenicka: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Yasuhiro Waki: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Sklenicka found the better of the two picket pairs and had the suits covered as well. The board ran out {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Hearts}{9-Spades} and Sklenicka held on to double up into the chip lead.

Ryan Mandara Eliminated in 18th Place (£7,250)

Nível 24 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Ryan Mandara raised to 55,000 from the button and left 5,000 behind. Santhosh Suvarna raised from the big blind to put him all in and Mandara went into the tank to see if someone would bust out at another table. Clock was called almost immediately but not granted, and eventually Mandara tossed in his last chip.

Ryan Mandara: {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Santhosh Suvarna: {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}

The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Suvarna made a pair of nines to eliminate Mandara from the tournament in 18th place for £7,250.

Eddie Saade Eliminated in 19th Place (£7,250)

Nível 24 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Eddie Saade
Eddie Saade

The action folded to Gergo Szabo in the small blind who eyed up the stack of 250,000 in the big blind before announcing all in. Eddie Saade was the holder of the stack in the big blind and quickly called after looking at his cards.

Eddie Saade: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Gergo Szabo: {q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

The flop of {10-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Spades} left Saade in the lead with ace-high and neither player held a spade in their hand. However, the {q-Diamonds} on the turn put Szabo out front and the {3-Diamonds} on the river confirmed the elimination of Saade in 19th place.
