Day 1 Big Stacks

Nível 10 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Dwyer's Flush Prevails Over Loosli

Nível 10 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Sylvain Loosli raised to 2,300 from under the gun and John Dwyer defended from the big blind. The flop fell {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Dwyer check-called a bet of 3,500 from Loosli.

The turn brought the {9-Spades} and Dwyer checked again. Loosli counted out a bet of 6,500 and Dwyer just called. The {8-Diamonds} paired the board on the river and both players knuckled the table. Dwyer turned over {j-Spades}{3-Spades} for a flush which was good enough to win the pot.

Hallaert Bounces Geci

Nível 10 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The action folded to Endrit Geci on the button who moved his last 15,100 chips into the middle. Kenny Hallaert flicked in a call from the small blind and the two hands were tabled.

Endrit Geci: {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Kenny Hallaert: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Hallaert was in a dominating position and the board of {k-Spades}{j-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{k-Clubs} provided no help to Geci who hit the rail.

Gilbert Goes into the Tank

Nível 9 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Johan Guilbert
Johan Guilbert

During the Player Break

Action was caught on the river, with the {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Clubs} board on show. Johan Guilbert, from under the gun, bet 5,000 into a pot of 14,400.

Laszlo Molnar, on the button, raised to 11,000 and Guilbert went into one of his patented tanks. Six minutes passed, with Guilbert on occasion looking under the table, presumably to see if his opponent had a case of 'happy feet,'

Molnar called the clock and after 20 seconds, Guilbert flicked in the call. Molnar had the {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, for two pair and scooped the pot after Guilbert mucked.

Warburton Hits the Rail

Nível 9 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Steve Warburton
Steve Warburton

Steven Warburton put in his last 3,200 from middle position and was only called by Daniel Rezaei, who was in the big blind.

Steven Warburton: {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Daniel Rezaei: {7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}

Warburton was ahead but would need to dodge his opponent's overcards. He was unable to do that as the flop came with the {q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts} to give Rezaei a superior pair. The board ran out with the {j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Warburton exited the tournament room.

More Chip Counts

Leonard Finishes Off Clark

Nível 9 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Jon Clark opened to 2,000 from early position and Patrick Leonard made it 6,600 on his direct left. Action folded back to Clark who thought for a moment before putting his 22,000 stack into the middle. Leonard made the snap call.

Jon Clark: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Patrick Leonard: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

The {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop gave Clark some slim hope, but that quickly eroded after the {5-Hearts} turn and {7-Clubs} river. Leonard's aces remained best to give his stack a boost.
