A Table Filled With Notables

Nível 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

Table 34 seems to be one to watch as it features several notables right off the bat. Among others, Thomas Pettersson, Julien Martini, Harry Ross, 2019 EPT National Barcelona winner Markku Koplimaa and 2017 PokerStars Championship Barcelona winner Sebastian Sorensson can be found there.

Martini and Ross have some history from the 2019 World Series of Poker Europe not long ago and the former already lost a chunk.

Just now, Koplimaa opened to 400 in the small blind and Sorensson called from the big blind. The flop of {8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} brought a continuation bet worth 300 and Sorensson called. After the {j-Diamonds} turn, Koplimaa check-called a bet of 600 and they checked the {10-Hearts} on the river.

Koplimaa tabled {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for tens and eights, which won the pot.

Norden Chips Up Against Refos

Nível 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

Another early big pot was brewing and this time it was Alexander Norden and Raoul Refos that were at it. They had created a pot of 9,000 and the board showed {9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Norden made it 5,800 to go and that ended up winning the pot without any showdown, as Refos reluctantly folded.

Buhler and Stuer Back For More

Nível 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

Henri Buhler and Julian Stuer both took part on Day 1a without being able to bag up chips and can now be found at the same table on Day 1b. Another familiar face of the German-speaking poker community is seated with them in Markus Durnegger and Stuer lost a first minor pot when his {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} ended up second-best to {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts} in a checked down board of {9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}.

Michot Forces Out Jozonis

Nível 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

A pot of more than 11,000 emerged until the {k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades} river in a battle Tomas Jozonis (cutoff) and Laurent Michot (button). Jozonis opted to check and Michot bet nearly the size of the pot for 11,000. Jozonis spent more than two minutes in the tank and folded.

"Bluff?" he inquired and Michot replied with a "sometimes" while raking in the pot.

Zheng Busts In First Minute

Nível 1 : 100/100, 0 ante
Jiayu Ruan
Jiayu Ruan

Wei Zheng was seen leaving the tournament area and the dealer on Table 16 yelled: "Seat open!"

Jiayu Ruan was stacking up chips while the dealer wiped the board but he was kind enough to relay what had happened:

According to Ruan (small blind), he had raised with {a-}{a-} and Zheng (big blind) three-bet. Ruan four-bet, Zheng five-bet, Ruan six-bet-shoved and Zheng called with {j-}{10-} suited.

The board ran out {9-}{9-}{q-}{10-}{j-}.
