Up and Down for Chobineh

Nível 1 : 100/200, 100 ante

Isaac Haxton opened to 400 in the cutoff and was called by Bahram Chobineh on the button. Francisco Benitez three-bet to 2,500 from the big blind and both Haxton and Chobineh called.

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Benitez continued for 1,800. Haxton and Chobineh both called to see the {3-Spades} on the turn. The action checked to Chobineh who bet 5,400 and both of his opponents folded.

In the next hand, Haxton raised to 400 again and was called by Chobineh, Ben Heath on the button, and Kristen Bicknell in the big blind. The flop fell {q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and the action checked to Chobineh who bet 600. Heath folded and Bicknell check-raised to 2,100. Haxton folded and Chobineh called.

The turn was the {8-Spades} and Bicknell fired another 4,200. Chobineh still called and the {7-Spades} completed the board. Bicknell reached back for another bet of 11,500 and Chobineh finally released his cards to the muck.

On just the second hand of the tournament, Alex Foxen and Erik Seidel decided to play a 500 big blind pot. With around 5,000 in the middle, the dealer fanned the flop of {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}.

Seidel led out from under the gun for 2,200 and Foxen raised to 6,500 on the button. Seidel stuck in a three-bet to 15,000 and Foxen called. The turn brought the {4-Spades} and Seidel announced all in for 32,600, marginally more than Foxen's stack. After two time extensions, Foxen made the call.

Seidel tabled {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} for a set of tens but Foxen had outs with {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a straight and flush draw. The river was the {2-Clubs} and Seidel held on to send Foxen for a quick re-buy.

EPT Monte Carlo €10,300 Opening Event

The 2019 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT is ready to open its doors to poker players from all over the world, and what better way to get it started than with the €10,300 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller. The action is ready to unfold inside the Monte Carlo Bay Resort and Casino and a champion will be crowned after three days of hard-fought poker.

Last year, Bryn Kenney was victorious in this same tournament which was featured at the end of the festival. With the tournament kicking things off this year, it will be a welcome surprise to see who shows up and takes their seats. There were a total of 50 players including 10 re-entries which allowed Kenney to walk away with €153,000.

The action will get underway at 6 p.m. local time and each player will receive a starting stack of 50,000 chips. The blinds will begin at 100/200 with a 100 big blind ante and will increase every 40 minutes. It is expected to be a short opening day for the high rollers with only eight levels on the schedule, including two 20-minute breaks.

A single re-entry option is available to those that are eliminated in the early going. Late registration will remain open until the start of Day 2 at 12:30 p.m. There will be a 30-second shot clock in play throughout the tournament with each player given six time bank cards of 30 seconds. Additional time banks will be provided at the start of all subsequent days and the final table.
