€50,000 Single Day No Limit Hold'em Event Kicks-Off at 12:30 PM

After yesterday saw the €100,000 Super High Roller event come to its conclusion with Mikita Badziakouski defeating Ahadpur Khangah heads-up for the €1,650,300 first-place prize, another High Roller event will begin today with the player's given a chance to try their luck in the PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona €50,000 Single Day event.

The action is scheduled to get underway at 12:30 pm at the Casino Barcelona with the best-of-the-best set to do battle once more.

The High Roller events have been hugely popular in Barcelona so far with the likes of Timothy Adams, Sam Greenwood, Cary Katz, Bryn Kenney, Stephen Chidwick, David Peters, Patrik Antonius, Nick Petrangelo and Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu all in action.

Michael Soyza took down the €10,300 High Roller earlier this week for a payday worth €302,500 and would be expected to be among the field again today.

The tournament will play out over 30-minute levels with a starting stack worth 100,000 and blinds beginning at 500/1000/1000. There will be a 20-minute break after every five levels and a 75-minute dinner break at the end of level 16 (approx. 9 pm).

€100,000 Super High Roller Winner Badziakouski Enters

There will be no rest day for Mikita Badziakouski after he took a seat in €50,000 Single-Day High Roller.

Yesterday saw Badziakouski defeat Ahadpur Khangah heads-up in the €100,000 Super High Roller for the €1,650,300 first-place prize and the champion has opted to jump straight back into action today.

In the meantime, runner-up Khangah has also taken his seat as he looks to go one better this time around.

Davies Eliminates Thorel Who Reenters

Jean-Noel Thorel had seen his stack reduced to around the 20,000 chip mark in the first level and got all his chips into the middle against Seth Davies preflop.

Davies hit a pair on the flop to take the lead and secured the pot when he hit the nut flush on the turn. Davies even had a draw to the royal flush but didn't receive it.

Thorel departed from the table and used his single re-entry option.

Zhang Hits a House to Eliminate Ferreira

Ivan Leow raised to 6,000 from the cutoff, and Chi Zhang called on the button. Jean Ferreira moved all in from the small blind for 15,700 and Leow called. With the decision back on Chi Zhang, he moved all in, which got Leow to fold reluctantly.

Zhang saw his pocket pair was dominated by Ferreira's pocket eights, but the flop hit Zhang's out, and he improved to a full house on the turn. There was to be no miracle eight on the river for Ferriera, and he departed from the event.

Salter Busts Kisacikoglu and Muehloecker

Thomas Muehloecker opened the action with a raise to 8,500 and Orpen Kisacikoglu three-bet all in for the last 22,000.

"Did you just register?" Jack Salter in the cutoff asked over to Muehloecker, who replied he had started the hand with 93,000. Salter four-bet to 34,000 and Muehloecker gave it some thought before moving all in, Salter snap-called.

Mateos Eliminates Badziakouski

Adrian Mateos raised all in for around 45,000 and the action folded to Mikita Badziakouski in the big blind, who was sat with around 30,000. Badziakouski was visibly unsure of his decision but opted to call after thinking for 30 seconds.

Badzaikouski was behind preflop and went even further behind on the flop when Mateos hit top pair. The king on the turn gave him some hope but the river was another ace to give Mateos trips, and the pot as the €100,000 Super High Roller champion Badzaikouski departed.

Aido Shoves and Adams Times Out

Sergio Aido raised to 13,000 from the hijack and Timothy Adams three-bet to 40,000 in the cutoff. Aido made the call after the rest of the table folded, and the flop came down , and Aido check-called a 30,000 bet from Adams.

The turn brought the , and both players checked to see the river. Adio checked once more, and Adams bet 100,000. Aido used nearly all of his 30 seconds before he announced all in for around 300,000.

Adams only had one time bank card left and had to use it as he thought through his decision. Adams was unable to make a decision and ultimately saw his one minute come to an end and his hand was declared dead.

Aido picked up the pot uncontested and got the overall chip lead with 595,000.

Kisacikoglu Eliminated by Eibinger

Matthias Eibinger raised to 17,000 and Dean Nolan called on the button, as did Orpen Kisacikoglu in the big blind. The flop came and the trio checked to see the on the turn. Kisacikoglu bet 30,000 and both opponents called.

After the river, Kisacikoglu checked and Eibinger bet what appeared to be 73,000. Nolan quickly folded, however, Kisacikoglu check-raised all in.

"I will need a count," Eibinger sighed and the jam of Kisacikoglu was for 239,000 in total. Eibinger made the call and was shown the by Kisacikoglu, which the Austrian had beat with for top two pair.

Three Table Redraw Required

Mustapha Kanit missed out on an open-ended straight and flush draw against Jean-Noel Thorel and the next two players to bust at almost the same time were Mikida Badziakouski and Ramin Hajiyev.

Bryn Kenney raised the button for 20,000 and Badziakouski three-bet for the vast majority of his stack in the small blind. Seth Davies moved all in from the big blind and Kenney folded, Badziakouski called.

Davies had already revealed his cards and Badziakouski grinned with the words "guess I could have folded," but would have been left with a chip and a chair. The board came and that was it for the €100,000 Super High Roller champion.

Foxen Busts Greenwood to Take the Lead

Sam Greenwood made it 20,000 to go from under the gun and Alex Foxen in the small blind three-bet to 85,000. Greenwood four-bet all in and Foxen called near instantly.

The kicker played thanks to a board of and Greenwood asked if he was covered.

"I have 416,000" the Canadian said and Foxen nodded, replied "I started with 450,000."

That massive pot vaulted Foxen into the lead and there are just 21 players remaining.
