Day 1 of the €50,000 EPT Super High Roller is in the books here in the Hilton Prague after eight levels of play. In total there were 28 entries which included 7 reentries and 14 made it through to Day 2 here at the 2018 PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague. Claiming the Day 1 chip lead is Hungary’s Andras Nemeth with 1,817,000 in chips.

Nemeth joined the field in the third level of the day and doubled a level later with pocket tens against the ace-king of Martin Winkler who was chip leading earlier in the day. A big double-up, later on, went Nemeth’s way when a raising war on the flop caused Nemeth to go all-in against Ahadpur Khangah with the straight which he held on to until the river was dealt.

In the last level of the night, Nemeth cemented his chip lead by winning a big pot against Elias Talvitie and eliminating Orpen Kisacikoglu in the last hand of the night. Nemeth had flopped a flush draw against the two pair of Kisacikoglu but hit a runner-runner straight to send Kisacikoglu back to his hotel room having to reenter tomorrow before the start of Day 2.

Trailing Nemeth in second place is Tuan Tran, the Vietnamese player collected 877,000 chips after having had a pretty bad start to the day. But after doubling up and winning big pots, left, right, and center a few times, the happy, sort of singing, chanting, player bagged a more than respectable stack to play with on Day 2.

Matthias Eibinger is third in the chip counts with 818,000 in chips. Eibinger chipped up steadily all day through, winning chips from Winkler and eliminating Khangah. Finally, there’s Britain’s Sam Grafton as the only other player who managed to bag above average with 545,000.

The absolute short stack is Daniel Dvoress from Canada, Dvoress chucked 40,000 into his Day 2 bag and will need some extra luck if he wants to run as deep as he did earlier this week when he finished in fourth place in the €10,300 No-Limit Hold'em for €42,390. Also through to Day 2 are Stefan Schillhabel, Juha Helppi, Luc Greenwood, Steve O’Dwyer, Elias Talvitie, Sam Greenwood, Liang Xu, Michael Addamo, and Timothy Adams, the defending champion.

Lucas Reeves, Ali Reza Fatehi, Thomas Muehloecker, Winkler, Khangah, Joao Vieira, and Kisacikoglu all fell during the day and might be back at the start of Day 2 as late registration and reentries are possible until 12:30 PM local time, Tuesday, December 11. Day 2 will start with Level 9 which features a small blind of 3,000, big blind of 6,000 and a big blind ante of 6,000.

Kisacikoglu Busts in Last Hand of the Day

Nível 8 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Andras Nemeth & Orpen Kisacikoglu & Luc Greenwood
Andras Nemeth & Orpen Kisacikoglu & Luc Greenwood

"Now I am going all-in," Orpen Kisacikoglu said when the dealer announced it was the last hand of the night.

"Is it binding?" the table asked.

Kisacikoglu laughed and shook his head.

"Yes it is!" Matthias Eibinger said.

Luc Greenwood raised to 12,000 from under the gun and was called by both Andras Nemeth and Kisacikoglu in the blinds.

The flop came {6-Spades}{q-Spades}{4-Clubs}, both Nemeth and Kisacikoglu checked. Greenwood bet 15,000 which Nemeth called. Kisacikoglu pondered for a while and then decided to go all-in. Greenwood took a few seconds, asked for a count and then called when the dealer confirmed Kisacikoglu had 136,000 behind. Nemeth looked at Greenwood and announced he was all-in too. Greenwood folded.

Orpen Kisacikoglu: {Q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Andras Nemeth: {a-Spades}{2-Spades}

Kisacikoglu had flopped two pair and Nemeth had the flush draw.

The turn was the {5-Diamonds} which now added a straight draw to Nemeth's chances to win.

The river completed the board with the {3-Clubs} to give Nemeth the straight indeed to eliminate Kisacikoglu in the final hand of the night and give Nemeth a huge chip lead for Day 2.

Dvoress on Crumbs

Nível 8 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Already short on chips, Daniel Dvoress defended big blind and check-called 13,000 and then 27,000 from Sam Grafton in the cutoff on {5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}. On the river, Dvoress' final check was met with an all-in wager for his last 38,000. Dvoress thought briefly and slid the dealer his cards.

Schillhabel Busts Vieira

Nível 8 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Joao Vieira opened in the cutoff for 12,000 and Stefan Schillhabel made it 38,000 in the small blind. Vieira shoved all in for 164,000 and Schillhabel quickly called with {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}. Vieira needed tons of help with {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. He was dead by the turn as {8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{k-Diamonds} hit the felt.

Nemeth Takes Chunk From Kisacikoglu

Nível 8 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Andras Nemeth had raised from the button and was called by both Orpen Kisacikoglu and Luc Greenwood in the blinds.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, both Kisacikoglu and Greenwood checked. Nemeth continued with a bet of 17,000 which only Kisacikoglu called.

The turn was the {j-Clubs}, Kisacikoglu now check-called the 55,000 bet of Nemeth.

The river completed the board with the {3-Hearts}, Kisacikoglu checked for the final time. Nemeth contemplated all his options and bet 185,000. Kisacikoglu looked a bit pained while trying to figure out what to do. The dealer warned Kisacikoglu he had five seconds left to take a decision. Kisacikoglu threw in a chip for the call and mucked when Nemeth turned around {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for the turned straight.

Addamo Tries the Double Check-Raise

Nível 8 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Michael Addamo defended big blind and then checked a {2-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop. Tuan Tran bet 12,000 from under the gun and Addamo made it 42,000. Tran called, bringing the {2-Diamonds} on the turn. Addamo checked and Tran bet 28,000. Addamo again raised, this time to 140,000. Tran called again and the river was the {10-Diamonds}. Addamo checked a third time but this time quickly mucked when Tran jammed for around 380,000.
