With 17,400 already in the pot and a board reading , Mike "Timex" McDonald checked from the hijack and former NFL player Richard Seymour did the same from the button. When the completed the board on the river, McDonald moved all in for his last 8,800 and Seymour snap-called with the for a rivered straight. Unfortunately for him, it was no good as McDonald had flopped a full house with the .
Carlos Chadha opened for 650 from the cutoff and Andrew Chen popped him to 2,100 from the button. Both blinds folded, Chadha four-bet to 6,500, and Chen thought long and hard before making the call.
When the flop came down , Chadha bet 2,700, Chen called, and the appeared on the turn. Chadha proceeded to check-call a bet of 8,000 and then checked the river. Chen moved all in for 29,925, and Chadha tanked for several minutes before making the call.
Chen rolled over the for a set of sixes, and it was good as Chadha, who was left with just 3,500 after the hand, mucked his cards.
Ole Schemion opened for 600 from the hijack only to have Sam Greenwood three-bet to 2,400 from the small blind. Olivier Busquet then four-bet to 5,800 from the big, Schemion folded, and Greenwood made the call to see the flop, which both players checked.
When the appeared on the turn, Greenwood checked and then quickly released when Busquet bet 6,500.
About 90 minutes into the tournament we just lost the first player, WSOP bracelet winner Michael Wang.
After unknown action we picked up the action on the turn with a board showing , as Wang checked to Andy Andrejevic who bet 11,500 into a pot worth about 24,000.
Wang quickly moved all in for what looked like 25,000 and the Andrejevic called quickly.
Wang:
Andrejevic:
The river was the , and Wang hit a queen nor a spade that he needed to survive, and he was the first player to get knocked out.
As it is a custom during the early goings of a big event, the hands aren't as exciting but we just caught a Aaron Massey picking up a pot on the flop after getting Nick Petrangelo and Andy Philachack to fold.
Philachack raised before the flop to 600 under the gun and Nick Petrangelo called from the button. Aaron Massey called from the big blind and the flop brought out .
Massey checked and Philachack bet 1,200, which was called by Petrangelo. Massey check-raised to 3,450 and both Philachack and Massey folded, giving this pot to Massey.
With 1,450 in the pot and a flop of , Chris "Big Huni" Hunichen checked from the big blind and Shaun Deeb bet 700 from the hijack. Hunichen woke up with a check-raise to 1,800, Deeb pushed back with a three-bet to 4,500, and Hunichen called to see the turn.
Hunichen check-called a bet of 7,000, and then action went check-check on the river.
Hunichen was obliged to show first and tabled the for two pair. Deeb went to muck, but Hunichen requested to see his cards. The dealer called the floor, who ruled that in this instance Hunichen did have the option to see his opponent's holdings.
"It's bullshit," Deeb told Hunichen before dealer exposed the for a bluff.
"I've never done it to you before," Hunichen said in his defense.
"That's why I think it's bullshit," Deeb fired back. "I think that's wrong, and you know it's wrong."
