Sointula Gone

Nível 3 : 150/300, 50 ante

While the tournament clock still says no players have busted so far, we're pretty sure that's inaccurate as we have seen some depart ourselves.

The latest to join the people on the rail was Jani Sointula. He was down to a mere 5,000 or so when he got it all in with {K-}{J-} against the {A-}{5-} of [Removed:17]. Sointula hit a king but Yan found an ace and that meant the end of things for Sointula. At least for now, he still has the option to buy back in of course.

Senie Among Early Casualties

Nível 3 : 150/300, 50 ante

Four players headed to a flop of {K-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts} and Brian Senie in the hijack bet, only Moritz Dietrich on the button called. The {7-Spades} turn went check, check, before Senie then checked the {8-Spades} river. Dietrich bet 5,800 and Senie check-raised all in for a total of 23,325.

Dietrich took his time before calling, but eventually did so. Senie turned over {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for trips sevens and Dietrich had that beat with {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for the rivered straight.

More and More Players

Nível 3 : 150/300, 50 ante

Well more than 200 entries are already shown for the tournament and another dozen players were waiting to be seated, as the staff was opening new tables and moving participants around to balance. Among those to enter were Jason Wheeler, Maxim Lykov and Nicolas Chouity.

Boeree In Action

Nível 3 : 150/300, 50 ante
Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree

On a board of {2-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds} we saw Liv Boeree check from early position. Ari Engel, on the button, bet 3,600 and Boeree called. Boeree check-called another 10,500 on the {9-Diamonds} river but couldn't beat Engel's turned trips with {5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}.

Boeree still had just 54,000 left after the hand and would get some back the next hand as well.

Dietrich Fast raised from the hijack and Boeree called from the big blind. The flop came {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and Boeree check-called 700. She check-called another 1,500 on the {10-Hearts}-turn before both of them checked the {J-Hearts} on the river. Boeree showed {Q-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} and Fast mucked.

Kurganov Folds the River

Nível 3 : 150/300, 50 ante

Igor Kurganov opened to 800 on the button and Ghassan Bitar called in the small blind, as did [Removed:197] in the big blind. On the {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop, all three players checked. The {3-Hearts} appeared on the turn and Bitar bet 1,600. [Removed:198] folded and Kurganov called.

The {Q-Diamonds} river saw Bitar check and Kurganov bet 2,000. Bitar check-raised to 6,000 and Kurganov asked "you really have the nut flush?", then folded after brief consideration. Bitar has around the starting stack right now, while Kurganov dropped some chips but remains the biggest stack of the trio.

Papazian Wins Battle of Romanians

Nível 3 : 150/300, 50 ante
Alexandru Papazian
Alexandru Papazian

We missed the beginning of the hand, but Michael Rocco was kind enough to inform us on what had happened.

Alin Pandilica opened to 600 from the cutoff and Rocco three-bet to 2,400. Alexandru Papazian called from the blinds before Pandilica four-bet to 7,100. Rocco folded, Papazian called.

The flop came {8-Spades}{5-Spades}{X-Hearts} and Papazian check-called a bet of 8,200. The {4-Spades} hit the turn and Papazian bet out 13,075. Pandilica raised and Papazian did one last double check before calling all in with {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}. Pandilica mucked but his {Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} was shown anyway because it was an all in and call situation.

The {10-Diamonds} on the river was a blank and Pandilica was knocked down to 26,000 while Papazian doubled to over 100,000.
