Johnny Lodden Eliminated in 15th Place (€40,550)

Nível 25 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante
Johnny Lodden
Johnny Lodden

Gavin O'Rourke raised to 65,000 from the hijack and Team PokerStars Pro Johnny Lodden responded with a three-bet to 157,000 from the button. Marko Neummann tanked for quite a while from the big blind, but ultimately he folded and O'Rourke moved all in.

Lodden called for his tournament life worth 1,035,000 and the showdown went as following.

Lodden: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}
O'Rourke: {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

The flop brought {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts} and O'Rourke hit a set to crush Lodden's flopped pair of aces.

The turn brought the {2-Spades} securing a win for O'Rourke and on the river,the {5-Spades}, it was Lodden who exited the feature table stage.

We are now down to 14 players, as one of the best and most accomplished has left the EPT Vienna Main Event.

Khoroshenin: {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {A-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}{9-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and Khoroshenin dodge straight- and flush draw outs to stay alive in this event.

Just Six Skrillees Remained in Last Longer Competition at the Start of Day 5

Nível 25 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante
Skrill Last Man Standing promo
Skrill Last Man Standing promo

On Day 1a, 62 players signed up for the Skrill Last Longer competition, and on Day 1b 98 more joined them. That brought the total number of participants up to 160 players, but only six of them started Day 5 (see full list below).

The Skrill Last Longer competition is being held at each stop on this season’s EPT, of which they’re an official sponsor. The promotion is simple – players sign up for the promotion either online (preregistration is available) or at the Skrill booth (which will be present at each stop); don a Skrill patch; and then aim to be the last man or woman standing. The last player remaining will then receive their buy-in back via their Skrill account.

While Skrill is upping the ante for Season 10 with a bigger branding initiative, this isn’t their first appearance on the EPT; as a matter of fact, they were a sponsor of Season 8 and have held previous “Last Longer” promotions.

The company’s website provides a bit more information on Skrill, which rebranded from Moneybookers back in 2010:

“Skrill has been moving money digitally since 2001. We offer online payment solutions for businesses and consumers, allowing them to pay and get paid globally. Over 36 million account holders already trust Skrill. Our customers can send and receive money worldwide in 200 countries and 40 currencies, securely and at low cost, without revealing their personal financial details. Your business will benefit from our worldwide payment network with over 100 payment options. Whether through a simple one-step integration or a fully-tailored payment solution. Whoever you are, however you like to pay or get paid, trust Skrill to make your online payments simpler, faster and safer.”

Headquartered in London, Skrill is looking to make their presence known in the poker world with a commitment to customer satisfaction through innovation and service. Not only that, they’re looking to be more than just a company by becoming a trusted and respected member of the poker community.

Patrick Fasching Eliminated in 16th Place (€36,150)

Nível 25 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante
Patrick Fasching
Patrick Fasching

Patrick Fasching opened the button for 56,000 and the small blind quickly folded. [Removed:40] in the big blind moved all in, effectively putting Fasching to the decision for his tournament life. Fasching made the call and again a big showdown, this time at the feature table.

[Removed:40]: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Patrick Fasching: {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}

The flop would come as good for Faschling as it could: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. Faschling was now the clear favorite to double up as he flopped top pair and a flush draw. The royal he wouldn't make though, his Italian opponent had the missing {K-Clubs}.

The {3-Hearts} on the turn was a blank but the {J-Spades} on the river wasn't.

"I knew it!" said Vitagliano who now has 2.2 million in chips, "I knew it!"

With the elimination of Patrick Fasching all remaining 15 players are guaranteed €40,550.

Mike Adamo Eliminated On the First Hand (€36,150)

Mike Adamo

On the first hand of the day Mike Adamo shoved all in from the cut off position for his remaining 491,000. Right next to him Roman Korenev was seated and he shoved all in as well. Both blinds released and just minutes into Day 5 the first all in and call was there.

Mike Adamo: {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Roman Korenev: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}

"Good luck in life" said Adamo with a smile.

The {6-Hearts}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades} board didn't improve anyone and Just like that the tournament is down to 16 players. Play is halted for a little bit as they redraw for the final two tables.

In Anticipation of The Final Table

Timo Pfützenreuter
Timo Pfützenreuter

Today is the day the PokerStars.net European Poker Tour Vienna Main Event will play down till its final eight players. Still seventeen players remain on this penultimate day so nine players will leave the tournament today with a disappointed attitude.

The tournament is set to start at noon local time. German player Timo Pfutzenreuter is the chip leader with 3,837,000 in chips, closely followed by Spanish player Pablo Gordillo who has 3,582,000 in chips. Oleksii Khoroshenin, who has 437,000 in chips, is the short stack, but even that stack converts to almost 15 big blinds.

With seventeen players remaining late last night there was a redraw. When one player is eliminated today the tournament will get down to two tables of eight and another redraw will be done.

Starting blinds will be 15,000/30,000 as the tournament played exactly five levels yesterday. There's no set amount of levels to be played today, they'll play as long as it takes to get down to eight players. During the last EPT event in Deauville the fifth day of play took a little under six hours to complete. The PCA this year took just under two hours. The more hours it takes today to get down to eight, the shorter the final table will be, and vice versa.

PokerNews will bring you updates from start to finish, no matter how the day will be. We'll bring you photos from all the players, videos to recap the day and you'll of course will once again find the live stream right here! See you in about 90 minutes!
