Murariu On Fire

Nível 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

On a {6-Spades}{7-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{10-Spades} board we saw George Phiniotis bet out 2,750 from the small blind. Next door neighbor Dan Murariu on the button made it 8,450 and the Cypriot made the call.

The {3-Hearts} fell on the river and Phiniotis checked. Murariu fired 12,400 into the pot and Phiniotis went into the tank for a little bit. Eventually he opted to fold, leaving the rather large pot to Murariu.

The Best EPT Countries

Nível 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

We're nearing the end of the 10th EPT season with just three more stops, including this week in Vienna, to go. This tournament the 97th EPT Main Event champion will be crowned, but for now there has still never been a two-time champion.

There have however been many countries with more than one title, 14 to be precise. Here's a look at how the most successful EPT countries stack up if we're looking at tournaments won.

Italy, Czech Republic, Venezuela, Switzerland, Belgium, Bulgaria, Ireland and Poland all have one EPT victory. Interestingly enough there has never been an Austrian EPT winner and considering we are in Vienna this week that streak might end.

Wily Old Jin

Nível 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Cailin Jin limped from UTG+1 while tucking into a plate of food, and when it got to Michael Feil in the small blind he raised it up to 800. Witali Reinbold called from the big blind and the decision was back on Jin. He decided to make it 2,200 and the two young qualifiers threw away their hands.

Vihakas Gets Clock Called

Nível 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Five players had called the 600 price to see a flop and the dealer delivered {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. It was checked to the button, PokerStars player from Finland Tapio Vihakas, who bet 2,700. The blinds folded but Tobias Peters made the call from under the gun as did Russian PokerStars player Evgenii Sharapov. Turn card {q-Clubs} and all three players checked to see a river card {5-Hearts}. Peters now led out for 6,700 which saw a fold from Sharapov and sent Vihakas into the tank. A couple of minutes passed at most and the clock was called. “I have two pair.” Vihakas explained but went on to fold fairly quickly before the countdown could begin. There would be no show from his opponent as he scooped the pot.

Cantarella Gone

Nível 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

The dealer had already put out a flop of {q-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} as we joined the action. Fatih Cemek has bet 500 and was met with a big raise of 5,500 from Franco Cantarella who didn’t have a whole lot more behind. Cemek flicked out two blue T5000 chips and with a call Cantarella was all in and at risk with {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. He needed help though against the {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} of Cemek. The turn {6-Hearts} and river {2-Clubs} didn’t rescue him though and he was out.
