Roberto Romanello spoke to PokerNews earlier in the day about his hopes of becoming a two time EPT champion, the first ever, and the belief he has in himself every time as he sits down at the table. That dream is still alive at this moment but it is slipping from view.
We watched a few pots where Romanello either opened in position and was subsequently raised out of the hand by subsequent action, or he got to the flop multi-way and couldn’t seem to make a hand.

Just as the level started Italian PokerStars player Antonio Ranaldi approached former EPT Champ Vicky Coren and asked if he could have his picture taken with her. Of course Coren obliged but explained that she wouldn’t be able to stand up from the table as she had just been dealt a hand and didn’t want to risk having it declared dead. Ranaldi crouched down, got his souvenir and went away happy. Coren folded her hand.
There were already 6,000 in the middle of the pot on the turn and Ami Barer fired 3,000. His opponent made a reluctant call and it was no surprise to see the final bet of 7,125 on the river go through without any need for a showdown. The Aussie Millions champ is back to starting stack and grind mode has been activated.
Elisabeth Hille was less fortunate. She returned from the previous break as one of the shortest stacks and hit the rail within the first 15 minutes of the new level.
