Help Put An End To This Little Known Condition

Nível 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

It’s a condition thought to affect one in ten poker players at some point in their career. It can be the cause of great embarrassment, discomfort and can even affect performance, leaving the male player in particular feeling inadequate and impotent, especially in front of the opposite sex.

Doctors are unsure of the origins of the disorder, or of its specific name. It’s thought the German word for it is “Kannnichtalleinzufindensitz”, whereas in Latin it’s called “Ubi est bonum meum,” or “Ubi-est?” for short. In English though it’s commonly known as: “Unable to find seat alone” disorder.

One for the Spaniard

Nível 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

After Agshin Rasulov opened for 2,000 from the cutoff, Spain's Sergio Aido three-bet him to 5,100 from the button. The blinds both folded, Rasulov called, and it was heads-up action to the {10-Hearts}{5-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop.

Rasulov proceeded to check-call a bet of 6,200, and then check-called one of 9,400 on the {7-Spades} turn. The {A-Diamonds} river froze action, and after it went check-check, Rasulov showed that he had missed his straight with {6-}{8-}. Aido then tabled the {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} to win the pot.

Nível 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

According to PokerStars, a Dutch TV drama starring Team PokerStars SportStar Fatima Moreira de Melo shot at the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final yesterday. In the series, which is called “Bluff”, Fatima is playing the character of “Fiona” and the show will also feature EPT presenter Gaelle Garcia Diaz (playing herself), Team PokerStars Pro Theo Jorgensen as “Wild Bill” and Matthias and Christophe De Meulder in cameo roles. The story follows Phillip, now rich and famous, as he and his friends adopt the high stakes poker lifestyle with enthusiasm.

In addition, poker reporter Frank Op de Woerd had the chance to be an extra at the table. Check out some photos from the filming:

Pertsinidis' Limp Under the Gun Punished

Nível 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

In the level before this one, Maximos Pertsinidis limped under the gun and got one more player to just put in 800 to see a flop before the decision was upon the players in the blinds. Olvedo Heinze completed his small blind and the big blind checked.

{7-Clubs}{4-Spades}{9-Clubs} on the flop and Heinze and the big blind checked to Pertsinidis. He bet out and the other player called. Heinze made it 8,000 to go and the big blind cold called. Pertsinidis moved allin, effectively putting everyone to the test as he was the chip leader at the table. The first player folded, but Heinze had a tougher decision. Heinze had already invested 8,000 and another 48,300 behind. After some thinking he made the call, the big blind folded.

Maximos Pertsinidis: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Olvedo Heinze: {4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

Heinze was ahead but his hand was volatile. Heinze needed to dodge the two kings, three sevens and most likely another three cards by the time the turn would be out there. The {Q-Hearts} on the turn added the queens to Pertsinidis' list of desirable cards but none of those would pop up on the river. Instead the {5-Diamonds} completed the board and Heinze doubled up.

Can Lodden and O'Dwyer Go Back to Back?

Nível 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Last years final table of the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final was one of the greatest in EPT's 10-year history. All of the players were known players before they made the final table and it was a true spectacle to watch. Most of them returned this year to repeat their deep run, just Australian Grant Levy didn't make the trip.

Pantling, Negreanu, Cody, Schwartz and Mercier were all eliminated on the first day of play this year though. That leaves just Lodden and O'Dwyer for the back to back final table, with O'Dwyer still in the unique position to go for the back to back EPT title.

The Gus Hansen Hokey Cokey, Plus a Steady Ship from Panama

Nível 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The start of Day 2 can often mean a last-gasp rush to the cash desk — as Gus Hansen will testify this morning. Hansen should probably have taken a leaf out of Alberto Dayan's book, who did all his rushing yesterday and won the super last-chance satellite, then tripled his stack in about five minutes. PokerStars Blog explains:

Kuo Kings Kaput

Nível 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Kitty Kuo has just tweeted about her exit hand. She had been handed a very tough table draw including Barry Greenstein, Dylan Honeyman and Tom Alner, but she would fall at the hands of Russian Iosif Beskrovnyy.

According to her tweet, she busted with {k-}{k-} to Beskrovnyy's {a-}{3-}. He ended up making a flush, and Kuo hit the rail.

Seven from Heaven for "The Magician"

Nível 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

In a hand from Level 9, action exploded on a {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Spades} flop between Jacek Markowski and Antonio Esfandiari. The latter ended up all in for 36,900 with the {9-Spades}{7-Spades} for a flush draw, while Markowski had him at risk with the {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for an open-ended straight draw.

The {2-Hearts} turn brought Esfandiari one step closer to elimination, but the {7-Diamonds} river delivered salvation. Esfandiari paired his seven and his Main Event journey continues.

Gaelle Blown Away

Gaëlle Baumann
Gaëlle Baumann

Gaelle Baumann has been knocked out. She pushed all in on the turn of {8-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs} board with {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades} but when she saw her opponent call with {A-Hearts}{J-Spades} she made the same face that I do when I smell a bad odour in a crowded lift. The river was the {3-Spades} and the Frenchwoman was gone.

Kravchenko Triples

Nível 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Alex Kravchenko had lost the larger portion of his chips. He was left with just about 6,000 in chips, but tripled that amount ten minutes ago.

He ended up in a three-way allin holding {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}. His opponents had {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} and {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and the board ran out {9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{10-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{7-Clubs}.

Kravchenko, though still short, has a fighting chance again!
