Aussies Butting Heads

Nível 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Jeff Rossiter
Jeff Rossiter

Full Tilt Poker Ambassador Jonathan Karamalikis raised to 1,000 preflop and was called on the button by Hassan Fares before Jeff Rossiter made it 3,600 in the small blind. Both other players made the call.

The flop was {6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Rossiter bet 3,300. Karamalikis called and Fares made the fold. The turn was the {J-Clubs} and Rossiter bet 8,500, Karamalikis wanted to know how much his compatriot had left and, having found out it was roughly 15,000, he moved all in. Rossiter instantly folded.

Selbsts After Dinner Show

Nível 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

The tournament will start on time after the dinner break; there is no waiting for players to take their seats. The small and big blind were not back in time as it folded round to Vanesa Selbst in the cutoff who raised to 1,000 with just Michele Bianchi to get through.

He folded and the blinds and antes were added to Selbst’s stack. Perhaps she wishes they were there as she showed {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}.

PokerNews GPI Update Episode #16: Negreanu Plummets

Daniel Negreanu plummets in the GPI
Daniel Negreanu plummets in the GPI

Daniel Negreanu plummeted out of the top 10 of the Global Poker Index this week, and Rich and Eric discuss that along with a bit of shakeup in the 2014 GPI Player of the Year race.

The two also offer a little advice for the Fantasy Poker Manager game on Facebook. This week's "buy low" candidate is a very familiar face, and the "sell high" is a favorite of the duo with a very big price tag.

The Daily EPT10 Player of the Year Update for 4-26-14

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

The European Poker Tour Season 10 Player of the Year race is nearing an end, and as you know players have been accumulating points in all events throughout Season 10, regardless of the buy-in level. In addition, all of the Festival Events (Estrellas, UKIPT, Eureka, FPS, IPT) that combine with an EPT tour stop have been eligible for Player of the Year points. The winner of this season’s award will walk away with €50,000 in Main Event buy-ins, good for any PokerStars or Full Tilt sponsored event.

The Global Poker Index (GPI) points formula, which will be used to determine the EPT10 POY, is a bit complicated, but you can read about all the details here.

Here are the current top ten on the EPT10 POY Leaderboard. As you can see, Ole Schemion is running away with it and is a near lock to lay claim to the title, especially since he just finished seventh in the Super High Roller.

Swapping Algorithms For Scenery And Some Company

Mark Teltscher was unfailingly polite when I asked to talk to him at the break. He paused for a second, double taking as if something else had occurred to him, before asking: “For an interview?” I replied yes. He then suggested the bar of Le Sporting, “If that’s convenient to you.”

Having Fun

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Poker can be a serious business. A bit too serious sometimes. Agshin Rasulov from Azerbaijan and Alexander Timokhin from Czech Republic were in a pot together and joking around about having tells on each other. The dealer reminded them not to take it too far though.

The flop they were looking at was {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}{q-Clubs} and big blind Rasulov had bet 2,850. “Why so much?” Timokhin wanted to know, laughing. He made the call and they saw a turn {6-Hearts} which they both checked.

Timokhin now checked in the dark to see a river {10-Clubs} and when Rasulov also checked he was dismayed to see the {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} of Timokhin. The reason was clear when he showed his {q-Diamonds}.
