Benefield's Straight is Bigger

Nível 19 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Erik Seidel opened with a raise to an unknown amount and found a call from David Benefield in the big blind. The flop brought {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades} and both players checked to see a turn. Fourth street was the {10-Spades} and Benefield checked once again. Seidel fired 150,000 and Benefield called.

The river was the {q-Hearts} and Benefield checked for a third time. Seidel bet 250,000 and Benefield snapped him off. Seidel tabled {7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} for a flopped straight, but unfortunately was behind Benefield's {j-Clubs}{8-Spades} for a higher straight. Benefield dragged in the pot and is now sitting on 1.7 million in chips.

McDonald Takes from Benefield

Nível 19 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

David Benefield opened for 125,000 from the cutoff holding the {a-Hearts}{7-Spades} and received a call from Vitaly Lunkin, who had the {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} on the button. Mike McDonald came along from the big blind with the {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and it was three-way action to the {q-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop.

McDonald checked top pair, Benefield continued for 225,000 and Lunkin got out of the way. McDonald made the call and then both players checked the {K-Hearts} turn. After the {4-Clubs} completed the board on the river, McDonald bet 400,000 with his trips and Benefield released his hand.

Fabian Quoss Eliminated in 7th Place (€128,515)

Nível 19 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Fabian Quoss (Day 2)
Fabian Quoss (Day 2)

Mike McDonald opened with a raise from middle position to 125,000 and Fabian Quoss moved all in over the top for 1,030,000 from the cutoff. Action tricked back around to McDonald and he called.

McDonald: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Quoss: {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}

McDonald was in the dominant position but the flop proved to be interesting for both players with {3-Spades}{8-Hearts}{A-Spades}, giving McDonald top pair but Quoss flush outs to stay alive. The turn made things even more interesting with the {J-Diamonds} giving Quoss additional outs to make a Broadway straight on the river.

In the end, though, nothing materialized for Quoss as the {9-Diamonds} completed the board and he was eliminated in seventh place. Quoss will take home €128,515 for his efforts in this tournament. McDonald, on the other hand, is now sitting on the top stack with 3.5 million in chips.

Timothy Adams is the €50K Bubble Boy

Nível 19 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Timothy Adams
Timothy Adams

It took awhile but the bubble has finally burst!

It happened when action folded to Timothy Adams in the hijack and he shoved for his last 665,000. The next three players all folded to Erik Seidel in the big blind, he looked down at his cards and then made a quick call.

Seidel: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Adams: {k-Spades}{9-Spades}

Interestingly, Seidel had pocket queens the hand before when he shoved and swiped the blinds. According to the PokerNews Odds Calculator, Seidel was a 67.70% favorite to win the hand while Adams would come from behind 31.92% of the time.

The {2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} flop was kind to Adams as it paired his king and made him an 86.67% favorite. Seidel's chances of winning the hand dropped to 13.33%, but it went up to 25% when the {10-Clubs} turn gave him a flush draw. Much to Adams' dismay, and the relief of the other players, the {3-Clubs} spiked on the river to give Seidel the said flush. Adams exited empty handed in eighth place while the remaining seven players are now guaranteed at least €128,515.
