Francesco Paolo Conte opened for 725 in the cut off and was raised to 1,985 by Manig Loeser on the button. It looked like these two were ready to go to war but PokerStars Pro “Mad” Marvin Rettenmaier had other ideas. He made it 8,025 and took it down. Conte looked annoyed by how the hand played out and started talking to Rettenmaier about his range and what he could be doing that with. He jerked a thumb towards Loeser and added, “Besides I didn’t know what he was going to do.”

The European Poker Tour has been attracting poker's best players from all over the world for a decade. A number of Latin American Poker Tour stars are among those who've come out for today's Day 1B at EPT Barcelona.
Read more on the overlap between these two tours in the PokerStars Blog.
We picked up the action on the river with a board reading . A short-stacked Steve O'Dwyer, who took third in yesterday's €50,000 Super High Roller finale for €355,100, proceeded to move all in for his last 6,500 or so and received a call from Paul Rimmer.
O'Dwyer tabled the for jacks and nines with a king kicker, but it was no good as Rimmer rolled over the for jacks and nines with an ace kicked.
With that, O'Dwyer collected his things and exited the EPT10 Barcelona Main Event.

Ole Schemion is a beast. The young German pro, who is not yet 21, took sixth in the €50,000 Super High Roller yesterday after beginning the day with the chip lead, and now he's up to over 100K here in the Main Event.
In a recent hand, there was around 8,000 in the pot and a board reading when Schemion checked from the hijack and Tim Reilly bet 3,200 from the button. Schemion thought for a few moments, made the call and then checked the river.
Reilly considered another bet but ultimately checked behind. Schemion tabled the for two pair and it was good as Reilly sent his cards to the muck unseen.

Vladimir Troyanovskiy opened for 800 and short stacked William Hani from France went all in for his last 5,575. Action was on Mike McDonald who sized up the situation asking for a count of Troyanovskiy’s chips. 15,000 was the amount. McDonald took the cautious route and called. Troyanovskiy folded and McDonald had Hani to himself. Unfortunately for McDonald’s was crushed by Hani’s . McDonald tapped the table acknowledging a loose call. The board ran out and the chips were passed to Hani.
Francisco Izquierdo was all in and at risk before the flop for his last 18,375 against Fatima Moreira de Melo. Izquierdo held but was crushed by de Melo's .
The door card of the flop proved to be safe for de Melo as it was the . When the dealer spread the rest of the flop, however, de Melo's chances of winning the hand dropped significantly as the and the were the other two cards. Suddenly Izquierdo was primed for a double up by flopping trip queens. Izquierdo held his lead all of the way to the end after the hit fourth street and the hit fifth. De Melo took the hit and shipped double up chips across the table, shrinking her stack to around 16,000. Izquierdo was able to double up to around 38,000.
