Kroon’s Table Assessment

Nível 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Oscar Kroon from Sweden, a PokerStars player, opened to 1,050 from mid position and found a caller in qualifier Stephen Woodhead from the big blind. They saw a flop of {q-Spades}{a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. Woodhead bet 1,100 and Koon called. The [5] on the turn saw both players check. When the river came the {k-Diamonds} Woodhead checked and left the door open for a bet. Koon obliged to the tune of 2,350 which was enough to get the fold. Just then Tobias Peters joined the from another table. “How’s the table?” He asked Koon. “Not bad. A little quiet.” Jake Cody, sitting opposite said nothing.

Having recently tripled up, Cody opened the next pot for 1,100. Jakob Karlsson on the button made it 2,200, the blinds folded as did Cody.

Moreno Calls With Top Two

Nível 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

We arrived to the table to catch the end of a hand between Andrew Moreno and Sofia Lovgren. The finished board read {2-Spades}{5-Hearts}{K-Spades}{Q-Spades}{J-Spades} and Moreno had checked over to Lovgren. She fired out a bet of 10,600 and Moreno thought for some time over which course of action to take.

After a moment passed, Moreno shot out a call. Lovgren let out a sigh and dejectedly rolled over {A-Hearts}{k-Hearts} for top-top. Moreno showed {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} for top two pair which ultimately was, despite the spade heavy board, the best hand. Moreno stacked his new chips and is now sitting around 58,000 while Lovgren has dropped to 11,400.

Cody Triples Up

There was a raise from Sweden's Jakob Karlsson and a call from the UK's Stephen Woodhead before action folded over to Team PokerStars Pro Jake Cody in the big blind. Cody was short stacked and moved all in for 5,175. Karlsson made the call, then Woodhead raised all in over the top for 29,900. Karlsson quickly made the call, creating a three-way all in.

Karlsson showed the {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} and Woodhead the {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Cody had the worst of the three hands with the {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}.

The flop came down {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{3-Hearts} to give Cody the lead with a pair of jacks. He still had plenty of outs to dodge, though, with two cards to come.

On the turn, the {8-Diamonds} fell, then the {6-Clubs} completed the board on the river. Cody smiled, knowing he had just dodge half of the deck. In the side pot, Karlsson lost to Woodhead and had to send over 24,725. Karlsson was left with 30,000 in chips.

Bad Beat for Izquierdo

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

A preflop raising war saw Pratik Ghatge get his healthy stack of 39,375 all in holding the {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}. Unfortunately for him, his opponent, Francisco Izquierdo, had him dominated with the {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}.

Poker is a game of five cards, so it's not over until the river as Ghatge found out when the {q-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} gave him renewed life and the lead with a set of queens. Izquierdo was clearly disgusted and got up to leave after the {5-Clubs} was put out on the turn followed by the {4-Spades} river.

The stacks were counted down and Izquierdo actually had 10,000 left, so plenty to work with if he can overcome the bad beat.

Action on Table Eight

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Richard Young is sitting on just 13,000 chips and doesn’t seem very interested in playing many hands at the moment but the other players at table eight, perhaps fired up by a restorative dinner break, are keen to play some poker. Here are a few hands PokerNews observed.

George Bogdan Ana opened for 1,025, Martin Finger called as did Richard Milne Snr in the big blind. We saw a flop of {3-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}. Ana bet 1,300 and Finger called, the big blind folded. A {2-Clubs} came on the turn. Ana continued for 2,000 and Finger bet enough to put Ana all in. A chastened Ana folded.

Einar Lindestad opened in the cut off for 950, Kjetil Hansen calle on the button as did the small blind Richard Milne Snr. The flop came {2-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. Checked to Lindestad who bet 1,500 and folded when Hansen showed the {j-Clubs}.

It was a chance then for Gerard Alexander Livingston to get back in the action as he had just endured a penalty for leaving his seat while he had cards in front of him. Alexander Livingston opened under the gun for 800 and Livingston made the call. On a flop of {6-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} Livingston check called a bet of 800. The {j-Diamonds} on the turn and this time Livingston check folded to a 1,700 bet.
