Dia 1b Concluído
The second of three flights for the $1,100 Pot Limit Omaha Championship at the Champions Club Winter Poker Open is in the books after a very swingy day for much of the field, with Nan Liu sitting atop the head at the end of the day.
Liu was towards the bottom of the pack for much of the day but managed to catch some fire late in the evening and didn't let off the gas, securing himself a healthy Day 2 stack of 672,000.
A little ways behind him is Karim Bevans who was in the top stacks throughout the day and managed to get an extra boost at the end when he busted Kailun Sun on the bubble to bag up 554,000 in chips. Rounding out the top three is Joshua Barney with 464,000 who scored a lot of chips when he knocked out Carl Masters followed by Jonathan Gaviao.

After a delayed start, once this flight got going it did not slow down one bit as players kept re-entering this $1,100 buy-in like it was a $20 nightly! The 71 entries exceeded yesterday's number of 48 and tomorrow will be sure to garner even more attention.
With that notable bump of players, the total prize pool now sits at $114,835 with a final opening flight set to go on Wednesday at 4 p.m. which will likely send the final number soaring past the $150,000 guarantee.
Day 1c will be the last chance to advance, and another healthy field is expected with players keen to earn their chance at Winter Poker Open glory.
Some notables that failed to bag today and will most likely be in the mix tomorrow include David Shaw, Ray Henson, Will Leffingwell, David Mzareulov, Scott Dulaney, and David Diaz.
PokerNews will again be on hand to capture all the excitement, so keep your browsers locked right here for complete live reporting on the road to Thursday’s live-streamed final table here at Champions Club in Houston, Texas.

Kailun Sun got it all in preflop for around 120,000 against Karim Bevans to put her at risk.
Kailun Sun: A♥K♦6♥8♦
Karim Bevans: Q♦Q♠3♥3♠
The flop of 2♥3♦K♣ gave Bevans a big lead with bottom set, but the J♦ turn gave Sun some outs with a flush draw. Unfortunately for her, the river was the J♥ to improve Bevans to a full house and Sun is eliminated on the bubble.

With the elimination of Jonathan Gaviao, there are now 10 players left in Day 1b which means they are now on the Day 2 bubble and hand-for-hand play is in effect.
Carl Masters opened to 20,000 and was called by Jonathan Gaviao on the button before Joshua Barney three-bet to 87,000 in the small blind.
The action folded back to Masters who made the call and then it was Gaviao.
"I don't know what to do," He laughed and shook his head after over a minute of head-scratching. He eventually decided to make the call and the trio went to the flop of A♦7♠K♦.
Barney then set out a stack of 100,000 to cover both players and Masters made the call while Gaviao quickly mucked.
Carl Masters: A♥K♠8♠6♥
Joshua Barney: A♣A♠6♣4♦
Masters had ace-king for top two pair, but Barney had him crushed with aces for top set. The turn 9♠ did give Masters some life with a flush draw, but the river was the brick 4♥ to send him to the exit while Barney gathered the pot.
Left short, Gaviao exited soon after to Barney who chipped up to 631,000.

On a heads-up flop of 6♠6♦5♠, Jonathan Gaviao led from the small blind for 5,000 but was raised to 13,000 by Joshua Barney in the big blind.
After some pause, Gaviao made the calla nd they continued to the turn 10♦. Gaviao checked, Barney bet 25,000, and Gaviao called.
When the river hit the 2♥, Gaviao checked once more to Barney, who slid out a stack worth 100,000 and sent Gaviao into the tank.
After almost a minute of shuffling his chips and re-checking his cards, Gaviao decided to let it go and the pot was awarded to Barney.
