Buddiga Versus Drinan

Nível 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

In a confrontation between Connor Drinan (big blind) and Pratyush Buddiga (under the gun) we saw both players check on a flop of {J-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{6-Spades}.

Drinan checked again on the {10-Clubs} on the turn, and called the 700 bet his neighbor made. The river came the {3-Clubs} and Drinan checked once more. Buddiga bet 1,800 into the pot of 2,650 and Drinan called. Buddiga showed {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for the turned set and Drinan mucked.

Buddiga, while winning this pot, is still down a little bit for the day.

Gross Takes from Frank

Nível 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

Christopher Frank raised to 500 from the cutoff and Jeff Gross opted to defend from the big blind. Gross check-called a bet of 650 on the {4-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} flop, and then both players checked the {6-Clubs} turn.

"1,800," Gross announced when the {2-Clubs} completed the board on the river. Frank shook his head and then slid his cards to the muck.

Yoon Loses a Chunk

Nível 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

We just saw Brian Yoon, from the big blind, David Peters from the small blind and Daniel Lim, under the gun plus one, invest 1,200 to see a flop of {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{2-Spades}.

Yoon bet 1,600 on the flop and Lim called, after which Peters folded.

The turn brought the {4-Diamonds} and now Yoon checked to Lim who bet 3,575. Yoon made the call and on the river the {3-Hearts} hit.

Yoon checked the river and Lim bet 6,250, which was called by the former. Lim showed {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and Yoon mucked his cards, dropping quite a few chips in this hand.

Defending Champ Off to a Good Start

Nível 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

Last year, Alex Trevallion topped a field of 104 entrants to win this very event for AU$645,150. Trevallion is in action today looking to defend his title, and so far so good.

In a recent hand, action folded to Trevallion in the small blind and he just limped while he chowed down on a salad. Daniel Neilson, who is sporting quite the beard, then exercised his option to raise in the big by making it 400. Trevallion made the call and then check-called a bet of 450 on the {5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop.

Both players then checked the {9-Clubs} turn as well as the {2-Diamonds} river. Neilson tabled the {6-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} for a pair of sixes, but it was no good as Trevallion had rivered a straight with the {a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}.

That may have been a small win, but as you can see by his chip count, it's been a good start for the defending champ.

Yan Gets the Job Done on the River

Nível 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

[Removed:17] raised to 500 from hijack and received calls from Nick Yunis and Timo He on the button and in the big blind respectively. All three players proceeded to check the {10-Hearts}{k-Spades}{4-Spades} flop, the dealer burned and turned the {3-Spades}, and He checked.

Yan tossed out 1,150, only Yunis called, and it was heads-up to the {4-Diamonds} river. Yan bet again, this time 2,700, and it did the trick as Yunis gave it up.

Drinan Flops the Goods and Doubles

Nível 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

Home town player Michael Egan raised from the button and small blind Georgios Zisimopoulos intended to three-bet. He picked out the wrong chips however, and ended up just calling by accident. Big blind Connor Drinan made the call as well and the three of them took a flop of {8-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs}.

Zisimopoulos bet out 1,025 and Connor Drinan in the big blind raised it up to 3,200 almost instantaneous. Egan went out the way and Zisimopoulos called.

Zisimopoulos checked to his neighbor on the {2-Diamonds} turn and called the 6,500 bet Drinan made.

The {9-Clubs} completed the board and Zisimopoulos checked. Drinan shoved all in for 27,300 and Zisimopoulos went into the tank. He thought about it for a good four minutes and at one point almost folded, but tossed in the chips to call in the end anyway.

Drinan showed his {6-Diamonds}{7-Spades} for the flopped straight and Zisimopoulos flashed {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts} before mucking.

Giesbrecht and He Clash in a Big One

Nível 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

It's only the first level of the day, but we've already caught a big pot between Sean Giesbrecht and Timo He.

An enthusiastic Nick Yunis approached us, and pointed towards the board on his table with lots of chips already in the middle. Yunis recapped the hand for us, which went as following according to him.

Giesbrecht raised before the flop to 500 and Timo He called from the button after which one player called from the blinds. The flop brought out {7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and the action was checked to the button, and He bet 1,200. Giesbrecht, according to Yunis, was trying to make the call but accidentally he put in too many chips, forcing him to raise to 2,400.

He called the raise, and the turn brought the {2-Hearts}, on which Giesbrecht bet another 3,300. He now raised it up to 9,300 and Giesbrecht came back over the top to 16,000. He called, and the river was the {2-Clubs}.

After a while Giesbrecht checked, and folded when He bet 15,200. Giesbrecht dropped quite a few chips in the first level, while He's off to a good start.

"Are We Showing Bluffs Today?"

Nível 1 : 100/200, 0 ante

With 4,100 in the pot and a board reading {8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}, Chance Kornuth checked from the big blind and WSOP Europe bracelet winner Dietrich Fast did the same from the button. When the {A-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, Kornuth led out for 1,800 and Fast thought for a bit before popping it to 7,000. Kornuth wasted little time in folding.

"Are we showing bluffs today?" Kornuth asked. Fast did not respond.

Drinan Gives It Up

Nível 1 : 100/200, 0 ante

We happened upon Table 27 at the tail end of a big pot between Connor Drinan and Sergio Aido.

There was 14,600 in the pot and a board reading {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{q-Clubs} when Aido bet 11,000 from the small blind and Drinan, who was in the cutoff, hit the tank. Drinan seemed to waver back and forth, but eventually picked up his cards and sent them to the muck.
