Nível 7 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

From the cutoff seat, Connor Drinan raised to 3,000. Chance Kornuth made the call on the button, and the dealer spread the {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop. Drinan fired a continuation bet of 4,000, and Kornuth raised to 10,800. Drinan gave it up, and Kornuth won the pot.

Cates Eliminated

Nível 7 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Dan Cates
Dan Cates

Action folded to Sean Giesbrecht on the button and he raised to 2,400. Daniel Cates then three-bet all in for what looked to be 23,000 from the big blind, and Giesbrecht snap-called.

Cates: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Giesbrecht: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

Cates bemoaned his luck, but he perked up when the {9-Clubs}{q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} flop gave him a bunch of outs. The {9-Diamonds} turn was not what he was looking for, as it took away some of his two pair possibilities, and then the {K-Hearts} river finished off the board. Cates jokingly acted like it was a good card for him, but in fact the two pair he had made was inferior to Giesbrecht's aces and nines.

The table got a good laugh from the situation, and Cates exited the tournament floor. It appears he will be reentering soon.

Juanda Not Happy with Kornuth for Making Him Show After Muehloecker Doubles Through

Nível 7 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
John Juanda
John Juanda

John Juanda and Thomas Muehloecker just clashed in a big pot, which ended with a little back and forth between Juanda and Chance Kornuth.

We picked up the action with the flop showing {8-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}, as Juanda checked to the Austrian pro. Muehloecker bet 2,800 from the cutoff seat, and Juanda called from the big blind.

The turn brought the {4-Clubs}, and Juanda checked. Muehloecker bet 6,500, which was called by Juanda.

The river completed the board with the {7-Clubs}, and Juanda checked a third time. Muehloecker paused before moving all in for 24,400, and Juanda went into the tank.

Eventually, Juanda called, and Muehloecker showed the {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for the nut flush to double up.

Juanda threw his cards face down towards the muck, and that's when Kornuth jumped in.

"It's an all-in showdown," Kornuth said, "Both hands need to be shown."

Initially, Juanda didn't say anything, but as Kornuth pressed the matter and the tournament director was called over, this season's European Poker Tour Barcelona winner responded.

"You didn't show your cards in the same situation earlier," Juanda said, "Why are you being a jerk?"

"You are right, but I'm just trying to get an edge," Kornuth said, admitting that someone should've pointed out that he had to show in that prior situation.

"He has to show," Kornuth continued.

The tournament director indeed ruled that Juanda had to show his cards, and the {A-Spades}{3-Spades} was tabled.

Juanda wasn't happy, and Kornuth added, "You tried to do the same thing as me, and the only difference is that I didn't get caught."

Mercier Busts But Reenters

Nível 7 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier was eliminated from the tournament after shoving the cutoff for his last 12,000 holding {k-}{3-} suited only to run into the {a-}{k-} of Kevin MacPhee in the big blind. The board ran out clean and Mercier made his way to the registration desk where he promptly reentered.

Meanwhile, Erik Seidel was eliminated from the tournament. Something tells us he'll join the ranks of those who opt to exercise their single-reentry option.

Muehloecker Pays Roberts Off

Nível 7 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

We picked up the action as Thomas Muehloecker bet 3,600 on a flop of {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades} from first position. His neighbor Brian Roberts made the call from the hijack. Both players checked the {Q-Clubs} on the turn and the {4-Diamonds} completed the board. Muehloecker checked and saw Roberts bet a mere 3,900. Muehloecker called, but mucked upon seeing Brian Roberts' {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}.

Nitsche Doubles Through Mercier

Nível 7 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

In a battle of three-time World Series of Poker gold bracelet winners, Dominik Nitsche was all in for 14,900 with the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} against the {A-Hearts}{J-Spades} for Jason Mercier.

The flop, turn, and river ran out {Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} to give Nitsche a flush and the double up. He took the 14,900 from Mercier and left the Team PokerStars Pro with approximately 20,000 in chips.

Nuts for Kaverman

Nível 7 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

On a flop of {8-Hearts}{J-Spades}{A-Spades} we saw Dominik Nitsche check call a bet of 2,300 from the big blind. Byron Kaverman in the hijack was the one betting. Both players checked the {K-Hearts} on the turn and the {10-Diamonds} completed the board. Nitsche checked again and Kaverman now bet 4,400. Nitsche tossed in a 5,000 chip to call, but had to muck after he was shown {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} by Kaverman.

Cates Can't Flush Finger

Nível 7 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

With around 30,000 in the pot and a board reading {6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades}{k-Spades}, Martin Finger shoved all in for 31,400 from the big blind and Daniel Cates called from the button.

Cates: {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Finger: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}

Cates had both straight and flush draws, not to mention his ace over, but he wafted the river, which came the useless {Q-Diamonds}. Ship the double to Finger.
