Greenwood Doubles Through Kurganov

Nível 15 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Igor Kurganov raised to 18,000 under the gun and action folded to Sam Greenwood, who just called from the big blind. The {8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop saw Greenwood check and then quickly call off his remaining 64,000 after Kurganov moved all in.

Kurganov: {10-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Greenwood: {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}

Greenwood had flopped a set, but Kurganov was drawing to a gutshot, which became a double-gutter after the dealer burned and turned the {3-Hearts}. Fortunately for Greenwood, the {7-Diamonds} river was a safe card and he avoided becoming the bubble boy... at least for now.

Spindler Wins a Small One

Nível 15 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Yaxi Zhu opened for 17,000 from the cutoff and Benny Spindler in the big blind made the call. Both players checked on {Q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and checked as well on the {3-Hearts} turn. The river came the {7-Hearts} and Spindler fired 22,000. Zhu called, but mucked upon seeing Spindler's two pair with {4-Spades}{7-Spades}.

Kurganov Lets Greenwood Live

Nível 15 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Igor Kurganov raised to 18,000 under the gun and action folded to the short-stacked Sam Greenwood in the big blind. He waited for action to finish on the other two tables before moving all in for 47,000 total. Kurganov thought about it before releasing his hand, presumably so he can continue to punish the bubble.

O'Dwyer Applies Pressure on the Bubble

Nível 15 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

On the first hand of hand-for-hand play Steve O'Dwyer raised to 16,000 under the gun and both Phanlert Sukonthachartnant in the small blind, and Yaxi Zhu in the big blind, made the call.

The flop brought out {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and both blinds checked to O'Dwyer who continued for another 12,000. Sukonthachartnant check-raised to 25,000 and Zhu folded right away.

O'Dwyer made the call and on the turn the {10-Hearts} hit, on which Sukonthachartnant opted to check. O'Dwyer threw out a bet of 35,000 and after some tanking Sukonthachartnant called.

The river was the {7-Diamonds} and Sukonthachartnant checked again, after which O'Dwyer bet 80,000. Sukonthachartnant went into the tank for quite some time before folding, and he's now also among the shorter stacks in the tournament.

Alexander Lynskey Busts

Nível 15 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Alex Lynskey
Alex Lynskey

Alexander Lynskey opened for 16,000 from the hijack and Steve O'Dwyer three-bet to 36,000 from the button. Both blinds folded and Lynskey moved all in. O'Dwyer instantly folded.

The next hand saw a similar pattern, bit this time it would come to a showdown. Lynskey opened for 16,000 from first position and Steve O'Dwyer three-bet to 36,000 from the cutoff. Action folded back to Lynskey and he moved in for about 206,000. O'Dwyer instantly called this time.

Alexander Lynskey: {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
Steve O'Dwyer: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

The board ran out {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{5-Spades} and home town player Alexander Lynskey made his exit in 16th place.

With that just 15 players remain and the tournament is on its bubble. The next player to bust goes home empty handed, the other 14 players receive a minum of A$58,560.

Gruissem Falls Three Spots from a Cash

Nível 15 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

From the cutoff seat, Philipp Gruissem raised all in for approximately 100,000. Igor Kurganov called from the big blind with the {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}, and it was Gruissem who was at risk with the {10-Spades}{9-Spades}.

The flop, turn, and river ran out {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades}, and Gruissem was out in 17th place.

Lynskey Looking to Rebuild

Nível 15 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Benny Spindler opened for 18,000 from the hijack only to have Alexander Lynskey three-bet all in for 54,000 more from the button. The blinds both folded and Spindler thought long and hard before making the call.

Spindler: {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}
Lynskey: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Lynskey was ahead, and the {7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{q-Spades} flop seemed safe enough. However, the {10-Hearts} turn was dangerous in that it gave Spindler an open-ended straight draw. Fortunately for Lynskey, the {6-Clubs} safely landed on the river to give him the double.

O'Dwyer's Aces Cripple Lynskey

Nível 15 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

The flop showed {10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs} when we saw Alexander Lynskey check from the big blind and Steve O'Dwyer bet 20,000. Lynskey put in the call and on the turn the {7-Spades} hit.

Lynskey checked again on the turn and O'Dwyer quickly bet another 47,000. The Australian pro didn't hesitate and called, which brought the action to the {2-Spades} river.

Lynskey checked a third time on the river, and O'Dwyer didn't waste any time betting a hefty 170,000.

Lynskey put aside the chips needed to make the call right away, but he took his time before calling off the large majority of his remaining chips.

O'Dwyer quickly turned over {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} and Lynskey mucked his cards, leaving him with just 78,000 chips.
