"Seat open!" we heard the dealer shout. We rushed over and were just in time to see a part of the showdown that had taken place. Action had folded to Jason Les in the small blind and he had shoved all in. Erik Seidel had called it off from the big blind for his last 97,000 with , Les had offsuit. A on the turn spoiled Seidel's party and he made his exit in 20th place.

From the cutoff seat, Benny Spindler raised to 14,000. Daniel Cates reraised all in from the small blind for 45,500. Spindler made the call with the , and Cates had the .
The flop missed Cates, as did the on the turn, but he did have plenty of outs going to the river with a flush draw, a straight draw, and two live over cards to make a better pair than Spindler.
Unfortunately for Cates, the wasn't any of the outs he was hoping for, and he was eliminated.

We just picked up the action with a board showing when Steve O'Dwyer checked from the hijack to Benny Spindler on the button. The German former EPT London winner put out a bet of 32,500 and O'Dwyer made the call.
On the river the hit and O'Dwyer checked again almost right away.
Spindler went into the tank for quite some time before betting 90,000 and the action was back on O'Dwyer.
"All in," O'Dwyer announced after about 30 seconds, and immediately Spindler starte counting down the remainder of his chips.
A minute went by before Spindler folded, and O'Dwyer has now retaken the chip lead.

Daniel Cates opened for 12,500 under the gun and got a call on his immediate left from Yaxi Zhu. Phanlert Sukonthachartnant came along from the big blind and the three took a flop of . Sukonthachartnant checked and Cates fired 16,000. Zhu made the call and Sukonthachartnant folded.
The two of them checked the on the turn and the hit the river. Cates checked again and Zhu carefully cut out 40,000 and moved them in. Cates tanked for a bit, counted out 40,000, and then started to grab some more chips. He eventually moved forward 152,000 with just under 50,000 behind. Zhu didn't waste much time shoving all in and Cates let out a big sigh before flashing off suit (we believe with no diamonds) and folding.

Philipp Gruissem is among the shorter stacks left in the tournament, but he just picked up some steam after beating Alexander Lynskey out of a pot.
Gruissem raised from the cutoff to 12,000 and Lynskey defended from the big blind, creating heads up action.
The flop brought and both players checked, putting the on the turn. Lynskey checked again and now Gruissem bet 16,000, which was called by the Aussie.
On the river the hit and Lynskey check-folded to a bet of 50,000.
