Lyndaker Flops Flush

Nível 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Richard Lyndaker flopped a flush and managed to get a couple of streets of value out of it.

Lennart Uphoff opened to 55,000 from the cutoff and was called by Grant Levy on the button and Lyndaker in the small blind. The flop fanned {6-Spades}{k-Spades}{7-Spades} and Uphoff continued for 85,000 and was only called by Lyndaker.

Uphoff bet another 175,000 on the {4-Hearts} turn and was check-called again before both players checked the {q-Clubs} river.

"I win!" said Lyndaker as he opened {j-Spades}{9-Spades}. He was right as Uphoff folded.

Stavropoulos Doubles Through Ho

Nível 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

From the cutoff seat, Manny Stavropoulos raised to 52,000. Calvin Ho reraised on the button to 150,000, and play folded back to Stavropoulos. He reraised with two fistfuls of chips to 402,000, and then Ho moved all in. Stavropoulos called to put his tournament life on the line for 561,000 total, and he held the {A-Spades}{K-Spades}. Ho had the {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}.

The flop, turn, and river came {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, and Stavropoulos spiked the double thanks to the king on the turn.

Walking Sticks Better Than Legg

Nível 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Lennart Uphoff opened for 55,000 under the gun and then called when Anthony Legg three-bet to 128,000 from the small blind. The {6-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop saw Legg continue for 130,000, Uphoff call, and then both players checked the {10-Hearts} turn as well as the {6-Hearts} river.

Legg showed the {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}, but it was no good as Uphoff held the {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for two pair.

Small One for Legg

Nível 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Always nice when you win something unexpected. Anthony Legg mustn't have expected to win a bean when he looked down at {j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} in the big blind but Joel Douaglin allowed him in to win a small pot.

He completed from the small blind and Legg checked his option and checked behind on an {8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop. The turn brought the {j-Spades} and Douaglin check-called 35,000 to see the {j-Clubs} complete the river. He check-called another 62,000 and was shown the bad news. He smiled and mucked.

Trips Kings for Manny

Nível 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Manny Stavropoulos
Manny Stavropoulos

On the button, Ami Barer raised to 50,000. Manny Stavropoulos called from the big blind, and the flop came down {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}. Stavropoulos checked, Barer bet 44,000, and Stavropoulos called.

The turn was the {10-Hearts}, and Stavropoulos checked. Barer fired 109,000, and Stavropoulos made the call.

The river was the {6-Spades}, and Stavropoulos checked. Barer bet 123,000, and Stavropoulos snap-called.

"Jacks," announced Barer, but before he could turn his hand over, Stavropoulos showed the {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} for trip kings. Barer mucked, and Stavropoulos won the pot.

On the very next hand, Brian Rast raised to 54,000 from the hijack seat, and Barer reraised to 180,000 from the cutoff seat. Action moved back to Rast, and he gave it some thought before folding.

One for "nutsinho"

Nível 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Action folded to Grant Levy in the small blind and he raised to 71,000, which Richard "nutsinho" Lyndaker called from the big. The {4-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{q-Spades} flop saw Levy continue for 87,000, Lyndaker called, and the {J-Diamonds} peeled off on the turn.

Levy bet again, this time 136,000, but he couldn't shake Lyndaker, who put in the chips to see the {8-Hearts} river. Levy slowed down with a check and then quickly folded when Lyndaker slid out 385,000.

Manny Stavropoulos
Manny Stavropoulos

On the {7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop, Alex Lynskey bet 65,000 before Manny Stavropoulos raised to 175,000. Lynskey called, and the turn was the {8-Clubs}. Both players checked, and the river was the {9-Clubs}. Lynskey checked, Stavropoulos bet 215,000, and Lynskey called.

Stavropoulos showed the {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for a rivered pair of nines, and Lynskey mucked his hand in disgust.

Then on the next hand, Stavropoulos raised from the small blind to 62,000, and Calvin Ho called from the big blind before seeing the flop come down {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{10-Spades}. Stavropoulos bet 77,000, and Ho folded.

Two on the Bounce for Levy

Nível 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Grant Levy bounced back by winning two pots in a row with big aces.

He raised to 55,000 from the button and Joel Douaglin defended his big blind to see a {10-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{a-Clubs} flop where he check-called another 55,000. Both checked {9-Hearts} turn before Douaglin check-called another 88,000. Levy opened {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and the man from New Caledonia mucked.

The very next hand, Levy raised to 55,000 again and was called by Richard Lyndaker and Douaglin again. All three checked the {6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop to head to the {5-Clubs} turn where Lyndaker saw his 90,000 bet called by both payers. The river was the {a-Spades} and three went back to checking. Douaglin opened {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} but Levy scooped another with {a-Spades}{j-Spades}.

"You always hit your ace!" bemoaned Douaglin to Levy.

Lynskey Fires the River Against Barer

Nível 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

From the hijack seat, defending champion Ami Barer raised to 50,000. Alex Lynskey called from the cutoff seat, and Manny Stavropoulos called on the button. Everyone else folded, and the flop came out {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. Barer led with a bet of 77,000, Lynskey called, and Stavropoulos folded.

The turn was the {10-Clubs}, and both players checked to see the {K-Spades} complete the board on the river. Barer checked, Lynskey bet 155,000, and Barer folded.

Calvin Ho Eliminated in 12th Place (AU$95,000)

Nível 23 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Calvin Ho - 11th Place
Calvin Ho - 11th Place

So far today, all of the eliminations occurred in the first two levels of play. Losing 18 players in three hours of play is an extremely rapid pace for Day 4 of a major poker tournament, but that will also lend itself to some very slow action as the day wears on. After the second break, that clearly proved to be the case.

Following 18 bust outs in the first three hours, it took nearly three more hours for the next player to be sent home in 12th place. That player was Calvin Ho, and he fell at the hands of Brian Rast.

After Alex Lynskey raised to 50,000 from under the gun, Ho reraised all in from the cutoff seat for a little over 400,000. Brian Rast made the call from the small blind, and everyone else folded. This put Rast's {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} up against the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for the all-in Ho.

The flop hit both players, but it hit Rast harder — {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. The turn was the {9-Spades} to leave Ho drawing dead, and the river completed the runout with the {J-Hearts}.

Ho shook hands with Rast and the rest of the table before making his leave to the payout desk AU$95,000 richer. Rast moved to 3.1 million in chips, and there are now 11 players remaining.
