Kozlov gets Value

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante
Martin Kozlov
Martin Kozlov

Martin Kozlov will be feeling a lot better about his prospects heading to dinner after he got lots of value out of a one pair hand.

Jonathan Karamalikis opened to 600 and Kozlov was one of three callers en route to a {q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop. The action checked around to him on the button and his 900 bet was only called by the big blind. Kozlov went on to bet 2,500 and 3,000 on the {10-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} turn and river, bets that were both called. He opened {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and it was good as the big blind mucked.

Muehloecker's Massage Cut Short

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Thomas Muehloecker's run in the 2015 Aussie Millions Main Event just came to an end.

We failed to capture the specifics, but we do know he fell holding a straight with the {10-Spades}{9-Spades} to a player with a bigger straight with {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. Muehloecker promptly paid his masseuse and quietly exited the tournament floor.

"He's Back in the Game"

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

A short-stacked Chris "Moorman1" Moorman raised from the hijack and then four-bet all in after the played in the small blind had raised him. A call was made and Moorman was in dire straits.

Moorman: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

"A queen is coming," Mikel Habb said confidently. Moorman didn't seem too sure and began to get up, but he was halted when the {q-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop did bring a queen. A slight smile crossed Moorman's face as he sat back down, and he watched the dealer burn and turn the {5-Diamonds}. All he needed to do was dodge an ace on the river to double, which is just what he did when the {Q-Diamonds} peeled off to give him quads. "You like it?" Habb added with a smile.

"He's back in the game," another player at the table commented. Indeed, with a stack of 17,000 Moorman is back in the thick of it.

Salter Not Runner Up in this Pot

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante
Jack Salter
Jack Salter

Jack Salter has fond memories (sort of) from the Crown Casino after he was runner up at the WSOP-APAC for AU$516,960 just a few month ago.

His stack has risen to around 40,000 after he won a pot with the mighty {9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. He raised to 750 from late position and was only called by the small blind. Salter continued for 775 on the {9-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop and was check-called. No more chips ventured forwards as the {7-Hearts}{2-Spades} turn and river were checked through.

The small blind opened {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for a missed straight draw. When he saw Salter's hand he pointed his finger at him and smiled.

Salter giggled and said, "Do I have ace-nine? Whoop whoops!"

One for the WSOP Main Event Runner-Up

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante
Felix Stephsnen
Felix Stephsnen

Seat 6 over at Table 27 wasn't too kind for Hyeong Choi, but it seems to be treating Felix Stephensen well after he recently set up shop there.

We picked up the action on a {j-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{8-Spades}{k-Clubs} board when the 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event runner-up checked from the small blind and watched his under-the-gun opponent bet 3,000. The Norwegian woke up with a check-raise to 8,000, the under-the-gun player called, and it was off to the {a-Hearts} river.

Stephensen thought for a few moments before betting 11,500, and it did the trick as his opponent gave up on the hand.

Choi Bluffs It Off

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante
Hyeong Choi
Hyeong Choi

With around 35,000 already in the pot and a board reading {k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}, it appeared Hyeong Choi shoved all in for his last 15,000 or so and received a snap-called from Joakim Backlund.

Choi: {5-Spades}{6-Spades}
Backlund: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Choi seemed disgusted with himself for bluffing only to be shown a full house by Backlund. Choi quickly grabbed his things and then darted for the exit even before the dealer completed the board with the meaningless {3-Hearts}.

Martin's Stack Looking more Smarten

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Ben Martin is a well-respected online player from the UK but wouldn't be too well known in the wider world. He's playing here today and managed a double up with aces to rise to around 17,000.

He and an opponent were heads up to a {k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} flop where the chips went in.

Martin's {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} were ahead of his opponent's {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and stayed that way through the {5-Clubs}{6-Spades} turn and river.

The Eliminations Begin to Mount

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

The pace of play has picked up here in Level 4, and it's resulted in a few notable eliminations including those of Matthew Ashton, Brian Roberts, and [Removed:17]. We're not sure how the former two fell, but Oliver Gill was kind enough to fill us in on Yan's demise.

According to Gill it was the result of two hands. In the first, which happened last level, Yan opened for 500 from the cutoff and Gill three-bet to 1,200 from the button. The player in the big blind called, as did Yan, and three players saw a flop of {10-}{6-}{3-}, which they all checked. The {A-Hearts} turn saw Gill bet 2,000 after both his opponents had checked, the big blind folded, and Yan check-raised to 6,300. Gill took his time before making the call and then called a bet of 7,200 on the {9-} river. Yan had been bluffing with {k-}{j-} while Gill had flopped a set with {6-}{6-}.

A little while later, Yan lost his last 13,000 or so. We're not sure when the chips went in, but we do know Yan held {a-}{q-} on an {a-}{k-}{9-}{q-}{x-} board. It was no good though as his opponent held a set with {9-}{9-}. Yan, who finished sixth in the 2013 Aussie Millions Main Event, won't be making another deep run here in the Crown Poker Room... at least not today.

Right but Still a Loser

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante
Heinz Kamutzki
Heinz Kamutzki

Heinz Kamutzki's stack has risen back up to around 63,000 after an opponent called his river bet thinking he was bluffing.

Around 6,500 was in the middle and the board rested as {j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Kamutzki bet 4,500 and his opponent said, after a minute's thought, "I don't think I can beat a value bet."

Kamutzki looked at him confused and responded in the most logical German accent you can imagine, "You should fold then."

Hid advice was ignored and the call came. "It's a value bet," said Kamutzki as he tabled {j-Clubs}{q-Spades} for top full house.

"I was right then!" said his opponent as he paid the bet.

Wheelers Spins Out Doing Figure Eights

Nível 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

We noticed Jason Wheeler was no longer in his seat, and 2012 Aussie Millions champ Oliver Speidler was kind enough to confirm his elimination. Furthermore, Jonathan Karamalikis shared some details.

According to him, Wheeler had raised from early position and another player put out some chips, which ended up constituting a min-raise. Karamalikis believed Wheeler thought it was a "misclick," and he promptly moved all in. Unfortunately for him, his {8-}{8-} ran smack dab into his opponent's {a-}{a-}. No eight would appear, and that was all she wrote for Wheeler.
