According to a player at the table, Dragana Mackelprang opened to 6,000 in the cutoff, Andrew Moreno three-bet to 22,000 in the big blind, and Mackelprang called.

The flop was checked to the turn. Moreno bet 34,000, Mackelprang moved all in, and Moreno called for his remaining 63,000 or so.

Platt's Struggle Ends With Zero Chips

Esteemed broadcaster Jeff Platt has had an up-and-down day in his quest to accumulate chips, and his struggle to find a bag today has recently ended.

As recounted by Platt, the button player jammed with a dead small blind, and Platt called all-in for his stack of about 33,000 in the big blind.

The flop kept Platt in front, but the turn left him needing help, and the completed the board to confirm his elimination.

"Many people were saying that's the greatest call they've ever seen," Platt mentioned as he made his exit from the tournament area.

Although his struggle to add to his stack ends before the day's conclusion, the broadcaster and self-proclaimed "very average poker player" will surely have many more opportunities and struggles in the future.

Cheong Runs Into Foxen's Rockets

Nussrallah Scores Huge Double Knockout

A player in middle position was all in and had been called by Daniel Rezaei from one seat over. Stephen Nussrallah then re-jammed from the small blind, covering both other players and causing Rezaei to go into the tank. Eventually Rezaei emerged having decided to call to setup the three-way all in.

Rezaei was in dire straits while the other two players were locked in what would typically be a flip but with Rezaei holding an ace the middle position player was slightly favoured. The flop changed little but the turn did give Rezaei life. It was not to be, however, after the landed on the river, dashing both Rezaei's and the middle position player's hopes of making it to Day 2 while giving an enormous boost to Nussrallah's stack.

Thomas Muehloecker Leads 43 Survivors On Day 1a of Wynn Summer Classic $3,500 NLH Championship

Day 1a of the Wynn Summer Classic $3,500 NLH Championship, the first of three starting flights, drew to a close after 15-levels and 12 hours of play. Leading the 43 survivors from a total field of 300 is Austrian high roller regular Thomas Muehloecker, sitting on a massive stack of 1,127,000. Closest to catching the runaway chipleader is Dean Geistlinger with 758,000. Steven Veneziano, who bagged 703,000, rounds out the top three.

Several notable were among the players to find a bag for Day 2, including 2021 Wynn Millions champion Andrew Moreno (521,000), WSOP gold bracelet winner Boris Kolev (314,000) and three time bracelet winner Kristen Foxen (283,00), whose husband Alex Foxen is currently making a deep run in WSOP Event #50: $250,000 Super High Roller No-Limit Hold'em.

There were also several big names who entered the fray but did not emerge out the other side. They include poker commentator Jeff Platt, who made one of the best calls in poker history to no avail, second on the all time live earnings list Justin Bonomo and bracelet winner Andrew Lichtenberger.
