Welcome to Day 1 of the 2023 WSOPE Event #4: €2,000 Pot Limit Omaha
The 2023 World Series of Poker Europe is merely one week old and the chase for the coveted gold bracelets continues at the King's Resort in Rozvadov with the start of Event #4: €2,000 Pot Limit Omaha. One of the bracelets has already been awarded in Event #1: €350 NLH Opener and the four-card specialists are en route to crown another champion on the ongoing final table of Event #2: €550 Pot Limit Omaha 8-max.
Yan Shing "Anson" Tsang reached said final table but bowed out in eighth place to miss out on his chance to earn a fourth WSOP gold bracelet. The mixed game specialist from Hong Kong has three victories in the Pot-Limit Omaha variant to his name and the latest one came in this very event in 2022. Back then, Tsang defeated Tomasz Gluszko in heads-up to claim a top prize of €95,461.
The tournament drew a total of 221 entries for a prize pool of €388,407 and has subsequently earned a €300,000 guarantee for the 2023 edition. Notable finalists one year ago included the likes of Shawn Stroke, Oswin Ziegelbecker, Vivian Saliba, Farid Jattin, Dario Alioto, and Jorryt van Hoof.
Day 1 is slated to kick off at 6 p.m. local time and a total of 14 levels of 40 minutes each are scheduled, which makes a late night finish past 4 a.m. local time. Unlimited re-entries can be purchased for the first 12 levels and following break, after which the late registration officially closes.
All players receive 50,000 in chips and the action in level one features blinds of 100-200 with a big blind ante of 200, giving all contestants 250 big blinds worth. The tournament is scheduled to play down to a winner the following day and may turn into another long session at the poker tables here in Rozvadov.
