Gumz Sends Hui Out

Nível 11 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Phil Hui
Phil Hui

The hopes of Phil Hui to win the 2019 WSOP Player of the Year race have just received a major setback as he has been eliminated for the second time in the WSOPE Main Event and can only add further points to his tally in the COLOSSUS at the end of the series.

Fabian Gumz had doubled through Felix Schulze with kings versus queens not long ago and then three-bet a raise by Hui and a cold-call, making it 30,000 to go. Hui jammed for around 105,000 to force out the third player in the hand and Gumz called instantly.

Phil Hui: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Fabian Gumz: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

The board came {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Spades} and that spelled the end for Hui.

Moadeli Busts Pidun

Nível 11 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Mehrzad Moadeli and Thomer Pidun
Mehrzad Moadeli and Thomer Pidun

A loud scream was coming from the middle of the room as Mehrzad Moadeli had just won a flip against Thomer Pidun and grabbed his phone to snap a picture of the cards and board. The latter was all but rushed away and showed {10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{x-}{5-Spades} as Moadeli had flopped a set and rivered a full house with {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} against the {a-Spades}{q-Spades} of Pidun.

For his outburst, Moadeli was warned by tournament staff to be respectful to his opponents while Pidun was already on his way out of the tournament area.

Speranza Sends O'Grady to the Rail

Nível 11 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Michael O'Grady
Michael O'Grady

Gianluca Speranza opened to 7,000 and quickly called the shove of Michael O'Grady for what appeared to be around 60,000.

Michael O'Grady: {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Gianluca Speranza: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

O'Grady had doubled through Speranza earlier in the previous level but needed runner-runner after the {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop. The {k-Diamonds} turn instantly spelled the end for the Aussie as Speranza made quads, which made the {9-Clubs} river a formality.

Kabrhel Has Talking Chips Now

Nível 11 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Martin Kabrhel
Martin Kabrhel

After a couple of preflop raises, Martin Kabrhel and Mark Berman got all of their chips in the middle with Berman at risk for around 50,000. Kabrhel tabled {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} and had Berman in trouble with {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}. The board ran out {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} and Kabrhel held on to eliminate Berman.

In the next hand, Kabrhel opened to 6,000 in the hijack and Markus Ross three-bet to 20,000 on the button. The blinds folded and Kabrhel called to see a flop of {a-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Kabrhel checked to Ross who bet 10,000 and Kabrhel check-raised all in. Ross called off his stack of just under 100,000 and the cards were face up.

Martin Kabrhel: {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Markus Ross: {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The {5-Diamonds} on the turn gave Kabrhel even more outs and the {2-Hearts} on the river made him a straight. Ross was eliminated and Kabrhel picked up even more chips.

"Three-bet with ace-ten?" Kabrhel asked himself. "I never three-bet with that hand. That's a very, very bad hand."

On his table, two-time 2019 WSOPE bracelet winner Kahle Burns can be found along with other notables.

Dennis Martin just scored a double there when he pushed for 24,000 in the small blind with the {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, Giorgiy Skhulukhiya called with {k-Spades}{3-Hearts} in the big blind. The board came {a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} to give Martin two pair.

Two in a Row for Kortas

Nível 11 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Ghattas Kortas
Ghattas Kortas

Ghattas Kortas won two pots in a row, including the elimination of Faton Berisa in the second hand.

In the first one, he was in a {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} board against Alex Foxen and he bet 27,000 in the river from the small blind. Foxen was in middle position and called after a minute in the tank. Kortas opened {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds} to take the pot with a straight, while Foxen mucked his cards.

On the very next hand, Kortas was on the button and raised only to call Faton Berisa's shove from the big blind.

Ghattas Kortas: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Faton Berisa: {k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{6-Hearts} to give a flush to both players, but Kortas had the higher one and eliminated his opponent.
